Our third and final - a boy? What do you think of these?

We are just over 3 weeks away from learning the gender of our third and final, but that doesn’t keep us from name shopping! Our oldest is [name]Oliver[/name], his sister is [name]Annabel[/name] and this one is…

[name]Elliot[/name] - an old favorite of mine, but I was a teacher and had a rough one - I’m getting over that, but DH still makes ET jokes
[name]Henry[/name] - DH’s fav - I like it, but I fear its popularity
[name]Simon[/name] - I love the long i sound, a frontrunner, but not my absolute fav
[name]Milo[/name] - I really liked this in my last pregnancy (a m/c) and still do, but not quite as much
[name]Felix[/name] - great meaning (lucky, fortunate) and fun - nns?
[name]Arthur[/name] - is the “ur” sound too much like [name]Oliver[/name]? I like this one a lot; it feels classy
[name]Graham[/name] - nice, kind sound, but too short with the sib names? Plus, a cousin chose this, though we’re not close and it wouldn’t be a determining factor

Your ideas? I always welcome input.

A couple other notes

  • a girl will be [name]Eliza[/name]
  • our two-syllable last name begins with a K and has an L for the start of the second syllable

I can’t wait to hear your suggestions and feedback! Thank you so much.

I think [name]Elliot[/name] fits the best. It sounds great with [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name], and it also starts with a vowel.
I also really like [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Hudson[/name].

[name]Elliot[/name] - I love this name, I think it’s classical but still very nice.
[name]Henry[/name] - Eh, I don’t actually think it’s that popular anymore, but seems kind of stuffy. If you use it I’d suggest [name]Henri[/name] to liven it up without loosing integrity (popular in europe)
[name]Simon[/name] - I’m not a fan of this, it makes me think too much of [name]Simon[/name] says or [name]Simon[/name] Cowell or [name]Alvin[/name] and the Chipmunks
[name]Milo[/name] - I think this is really cute! It’s somewhat kind of traditional while keeping spunky lettering. I especially love it with [name]Oliver[/name]!
[name]Felix[/name] - [name]Love[/name] [name]Felix[/name]! I think it’s a great name. It might be a little too off-track for his sibs though.
[name]Arthur[/name] - Too many pop culture references (like [name]Simon[/name]) and I don’t like it with [name]Oliver[/name].
[name]Graham[/name] - I like it, and I don’t think sib sets 3-3-1 sound bad, and it’ll always be in that order when you write xmas cards and such. I think it’s a nice name.

I don’t have any suggestions for you, sorry. You hit on all of my favourites for this style.

[name]Oliver[/name], [name]Annabel[/name] and …

1 [name]Milo[/name] - If you want something spunky, this is the one! I like [name]Milo[/name] with [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name].
2 [name]Felix[/name] - I think this name has the same classic and “happy” vibe as [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name].
3 [name]Henry[/name] - If you want to go down the more traditional road, this name would be best. [name]Henry[/name] is certainly not a popular as [name]William[/name].

[name]Oliver[/name], [name]Annabel[/name] & [name]Eliza[/name] would be gorgeous and such a lovely choice for a girls name!

For a boy, I must say I love [name]Elliot[/name], [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Milo[/name].

I think because [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name] are so classic, [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] would be the best options. I think prefer [name]Elliot[/name] with the other siblings.

I love [name]Elliot[/name], [name]Simon[/name], and [name]Henry[/name] with [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name]! I think they’re stunning, actually.

I don’t know if you want to go too common, but I think [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], and [name]Samuel[/name] would be perfect, too.

What about:
[name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]
[name]August[/name]
[name]Jack[/name]
[name]Abbott[/name]
[name]Ezra[/name]
[name]Linus[/name]
[name]Julian[/name]/[name]Julius[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name]

Good luck!

[name]Elliot[/name] is my favorite with your other children

[name]Henry[/name] and [name]Simon[/name] are great too though!

I think [name]Elliot[/name] is the best with [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Annabelle[/name], but I also love [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Simon[/name]. Pretty much same as [name]Jenn[/name] above!

[name]Elliot[/name] - As a fellow teacher, if I marked off every name of a child who was problematic I don’t know that I would have any names left. I think it is a lovely name and you will get to raise this [name]Elliot[/name]

[name]Henry[/name] - [name]Henry[/name] has always been popular, it is such a classic and deserves it

[name]Simon[/name] - I love [name]Simon[/name]!

[name]Milo[/name] - This seems more like a pet name to me

[name]Felix[/name] - Same as [name]Milo[/name]

[name]Arthur[/name] - [name]Love[/name] [name]Arthur[/name]

[name]Graham[/name] - I really like it but I like some of the other names on your list more.

Thank you so much for your insight. I do keep coming back to [name]Elliot[/name]; it’s a matter of convincing DH, I think. [name]Simon[/name] seems to be a common ground for us, as he is more in the [name]Henry[/name] camp than I am. It seems like most of you like [name]Elliot[/name]. Maybe I need to push harder!

[name]Elliot[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]!!!
[name]Henry[/name] - It’s grown on me but still not a favorite.
[name]Simon[/name] - It’s ok.
[name]Milo[/name] - I like it.
[name]Felix[/name] - It’s ok.
[name]Arthur[/name] - NMS.
[name]Graham[/name] - It always reminds me of graham crackers… shrug

[name]Elliot[/name] - One of my faves.
[name]Henry[/name] - I like it, but I think you will run into a lot of baby Henrys. I have a nephew named [name]Henry[/name] and there are two in my son’s baby swim class.
[name]Simon[/name] - A classic.
[name]Milo[/name] - Somehow this name always seems too cutesy to me.
[name]Felix[/name] - We almost chose this for #3. Classic yet quirky.
[name]Arthur[/name] - I am not a fan of this one.
[name]Graham[/name]- We have a [name]Graham[/name] at home, so I am biased when it comes to this name  No regrets at all, I still love it.

ashthedreamer, thanks for your suggestions. I’ve thought of some on your list too…

[name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name] - I really like this, but not sure about an adult nn. I know it’s more common, but I have a hard time not associating [name]Theo[/name] with the Cosby show! [name]Teddy[/name] is cute for a little boy, but I’m not huge on [name]Ted[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you know others?
[name]August[/name] - This has been on and off my list. I like it a lot, but it’s not a frontrunner. I’m dealing with a really difficult parent who has one, which knocks it down on my list, I think
[name]Jack[/name]
[name]Abbott[/name]
[name]Ezra[/name] - I like this, but am not completely sure it’s me. I go back and forth on it.
[name]Linus[/name]
[name]Julian[/name]/[name]Julius[/name] - I like [name]Julian[/name], nn [name]Jude[/name], but again, am not sure it’s above the others
[name]Isaac[/name] - I love this (and its meaning), but unfortunately, it rolls right into our hard K last name. My FIL, who’s a [name]Mike[/name], has always hated this about his name. I’ve heard the same sentiment from others in this situation, so I figure if it bothers them that much, maybe I shouldn’t. Plus, it really seems to be gaining popularity. THere are 3 in my son’s preschool!

Thank you! I’ll always take more ideas!
