If you have read any of my posts, you know my husband and I don’t agree much on names. Well it seems like we may have it narrowed down to a couple. I still don’t know how much he loves them, but he didn’t veto them, so that’s a start!
He wants me to give him combos with MN options, but that’s where I struggle. I tend to stick to family middle names, but can stray from that if it means he’ll love the name, so I need your help!
Please tell me which of these names you prefer and what elegant middle names you would suggest.
[name]Hadley[/name] ____ [name]Johnson[/name]
[name]Annalie[/name] ____ [name]Johnson[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name] is a name I have loved for a long time and sounds strong yet feminine to me, and [name]Annalie[/name] is derived from my mn [name]Ann[/name] so it is special to me as well, but is more frilly sounding - Our son’s first name is DH mn, so I like that connection too. The analy connection has already been brought up and neither of us feel that is a real issue.
Middle names I have considered are [name]Ann[/name] (only for [name]Hadley[/name] of course), [name]Jane[/name], and [name]Cecilia[/name]. We both think [name]Annalie[/name] [name]Jane[/name] sounds nice together, but I’d still like suggestions. DH likes what he calls elegant classic names (however he does not like the names [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Isabella[/name], or [name]Josephine[/name])
I really love [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Cecilia[/name] from your options! I think [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Jane[/name] or [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] is brilliant (especially [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]!). I also like [name]Annalie[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]. Perhaps [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name], or [name]Annalie[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name]?
Usually I wouldn’t take issue with [name]Annalie[/name]–I knew an [name]Annalee[/name] and she didn’t have problems with it, as far as I know–but it does give me concern with your LN. Together it could just be terrible, but maybe she’ll be lucky and not have to deal with it. For that reason alone, I prefer [name]Hadley[/name], but I like [name]Hadley[/name] better in general, anyway. I like the idea of an [name]Ann[/name] name for [name]Hadley[/name]'s middle, to continue the tie your son has to your husband’s name. Maybe [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Anneliese[/name], [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Annika[/name], [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Anais[/name], [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Juliana[/name], [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Liliana[/name], [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Johanna[/name], etc.?
I really like [name]Annalie[/name] [name]Jane[/name]. It is very pretty. [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] sounds nice and I also wanted to suggest [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Annette[/name], to honor [name]Ann[/name]. Good luck!
I personally am not a fan of [name]Annalie[/name] ever since my husband and his brother pointed out the teasing potential.
I think [name]Hadley[/name] is nice, and I like it paired with [name]Jane[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Serena[/name], and [name]Noelle[/name].
If [name]Hadley[/name] is a name you have always loved then you should take advantage of this opportunity and go for it, its your baby and so long as your husband is ok with it, then I feel ALWAYS go with what YOU love and not let trends, family etc… get in the way. Its very cute. I don’t think you’ll go wring with either [name]Hadley[/name] or [name]Annalie[/name], love them both. Actually I like [name]Annalie[/name] a little more but like I said, its your favorite that matters. I also happen to be someone attracted to just about any name ending in a “lee” sound. if you want to carry on your middle name then why not “[name]Hadley[/name] [name]Ann[/name]?” I like [name]Annalie[/name] [name]Jane[/name] as your other option. Also for some reason “[name]Annalie[/name] [name]Christine[/name]” or something of that nature comes to mind with what you said you wanted in a middle name, classic, romantic. Though there might be something similar but better for that. Good luck!
I vote for [name]Hadley[/name]. Loved it when I was pregnant. like you, hubby and I did not agree easily. He refused. I still look at my [name]Scarlett[/name] (and as much as I love her name), I think, she could’ve been a [name]Hadley[/name].
