Honestly I love all of these names so much, I’m not sure I have a preference.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
I realized writing these down together that we seem to like ‘el’ sound with a strong consonant [name_u]Del[/name_u]/[name_f]Nel[/name_f]/[name_m]Zel[/name_m]…interesting!
@moonlitro Thank you I love [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] x
Moonlitro has given some excellent combos already but just want to give an extra thumbs up to [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] - so luxurious but also low key nn options! I love Delphi but you could also have Della or Phina esp with Victoria middle.
@eloiset Thank you I agree, [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] V would be pretty cute. Have I been on nameberry too long or does Dellaphina sound like a good name haha I love Della though, I suggested it as a full name before but DH thought it was incomplete.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
all sound amazing. Wouldn’t pair it with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] because of rhyming issues, but my favorite thing to do when [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] doesn’t work is flip it around to [name_f]Theodora[/name_f]. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] is lovely. I just really like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], though I slightly prefer [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]. I almost went with [name_f]Alice[/name_f] until I saw [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] on the list. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is a great combination, too.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
@bassilly Thank you I haven’t thought of using [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] as an alternative to [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] before but I have always really liked it! It does sound great with [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and feels a bit more modern.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] sounds very lovely that a few people have suggested, but I think I would need a second middle to add some spunk to feel more me and not too ‘Victorian’ if that makes sense. I have a bit of [name_f]Alice[/name_f] fatigue and DH says he would call her [name_m]Al[/name_m], so I don’t know how I feel about that!
Hmmm…prob internet getting to you, Dellaphina is cool in a way (like [name_f]Willamina[/name_f]) but it doesn’t have the chic confidence of [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]. I’m with you on your [name_f]Alice[/name_f] concerns: I don’t love [name_m]Al[/name_m] or [name_u]Ali[/name_u] and I find [name_f]Alice[/name_f] anyway pretty intense.
The combo [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] sounds timeless to me and would be my first pick. I love both names and they flow so nicely together.
I love 3 of those names ([name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]) and it was difficult to choose between them, but I chose [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] in the end as it’s so fresh and lively.
Favourite combos:
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
All four are very pretty, but I have a big soft spot for [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
As for middle names, I think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] would work best.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
All lovely, but based on versatility, my vote went to [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]. She’d have the option for the chic, sophisticated, mature-sounding full name, the cute and bohemian nickname [name_f]Delphi[/name_f], or the spunky and tomboyish [name_u]Del/name_u. [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] would be my pick, personally, but I too enjoy the flow of [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].
My second favourite first name here is [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] (actually, it’s my favourite in isolation), but it just doesn’t have quite the same flexibility that [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] has. It’s gorgeous, though: sweet, sharp, lively sound, quirky-classic feel, and a lovely naturey meaning to boot. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] would be especially stunning.
I love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] (and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] too) but I went with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] as I’m loving [name_f]Nell[/name_f] atm
As for middles my faves would be [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f], and would probably choose [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], but even better (imo) would be [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f]!
I have an Alice Pearl so it gets my vote
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]!
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] would be my top pick! I think it sounds lovely and sophisticated, and like @katinka said, a lot of versatility in the short forms.
