Our top 4 - help rank!

My husband and I have agreed on this shortlist of names, but we’re having trouble narrowing it down! We have middle names picked for some but not all. Any thoughts on favorites??

Cassidy [name_m]John[/name_m] (nn: [name_u]Cass[/name_u])
[name_u]Milo[/name_u]
[name_u]Miles[/name_u]
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] (nn: [name_m]Rocky[/name_m])

Miles>[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]>[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]>[name_u]Milo[/name_u]

I think [name_m]John[/name_m] works in the middle spot for each name except [name_u]Miles[/name_u]. For him, I might suggest [name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u]

Congratulations!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite of your options is by far [name_u]Milo[/name_u].

It sounds so lovely, warm, gentle, quirky, and bold.
I also like [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u], with its lovely nature meaning. I like its option of the funky nickname [name_m]Rocky[/name_m].
[name_u]Miles[/name_u] is nice as well, but doesn’t do as much for me as [name_u]Milo[/name_u].
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] is lovely, but feels very “country boy” to me, compared to your others - this isn’t my style, but it may be yours.

My overall ranking would be:
[name_u]Milo[/name_u] > [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] > [name_u]Miles[/name_u] > [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m]

Roscoe is my favourite, it’s cool & familiar but not overused, and [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] is a sweet nickname! I like the idea of [name_u]Miles[/name_u] with [name_u]Milo[/name_u] as a nickname too. [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] is my least favourite, I think it is a little bit feminine, how about [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] or [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] “[name_m]Cash[/name_m]”?

My favourite is [name_u]Miles[/name_u], then [name_u]Milo[/name_u], then [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], then [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]

Miles - I LOVE [name_u]Miles[/name_u], it’s recognisable, unlikely there will be any spelling/pronunciation issues and works for a person of any age.

Milo - pretty much the same as [name_u]Miles[/name_u], only slightly more childish sounding? I think [name_u]Miles[/name_u] nn [name_u]Milo[/name_u] could work if you want, but there’s no real issues with it

Cassidy - I like the name, and [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] is a lovely combination but my issue is that [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] is a lot more popular on girls currently, and if I hear of someone called [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] I would assume they’re a girl. [name_u]Cass[/name_u] is a very handsome nickname however. If you don’t see it as an issue in your area, then there’s no reason not to use it

Roscoe - honestly, just not my style. I like nn [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] though!

Miles [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] could work if you like both names? So could [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]?

Good luck, and congratulations!

Miles is my fav, then [name_u]Milo[/name_u] [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]

Miles
[name_u]Milo[/name_u]
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]

I’ve never hear [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] for a boy? I don’t think I could ever name my son that. I would never guess it was a unisex name. I know 5 [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]’s that are girls from my tiny hometown and college town so I’d imagine that would be the case in other areas. [name_m]Cassius[/name_m], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], or [name_m]Casper[/name_m] could work? [name_u]Cass[/name_u] sounds less feminine. [name_u]Miles[/name_u] I don’t think will ever go out of style, it’s pretty popular but I’d use it. I think it ages really well. [name_u]Milo[/name_u] is a close second but I think as an adult, [name_u]Miles[/name_u] would be better than [name_u]Milo[/name_u]. [name_u]Milo[/name_u] could be a nickname for [name_u]Miles[/name_u]? [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] isn’t bad, it’s pretty uncommon I think I’ve only met one [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] before and he’s in his 30’s. [name_u]Rocco[/name_u] or [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] would be a good nickname.

I love [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] nn [name_m]Rocky[/name_m]. [name_u]Miles[/name_u] is cool too

overall ranking: milo>cassidy>miles>roscoe

I actually really like all of these, but I think [name_u]Milo[/name_u] is sweet and combines parts of [name_u]Miles[/name_u] & [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u], so it feels better than either of those to me, and [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] nn [name_u]Cass[/name_u] is so refreshing and spunky on a boy!

Hmm… okay

  1. [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] - I love [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] on a boy!
  2. [name_u]Milo[/name_u] - Really sweet!
  3. [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] “[name_m]Rocky[/name_m]” - I like this and the cool nn!
  4. [name_u]Miles[/name_u] - Sounds a little too much like the unit of measure

I have been crushing so hard on [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] for a boy lately. And I think this is the first time I’ve seen someone else mention it

My ranking would be:

Cassidy
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
[name_u]Milo[/name_u]
[name_u]Miles[/name_u]

I love [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] and [name_u]Milo[/name_u] equally, but I think [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] edges just ahead for me because of its uniqueness.

  1. Milo is my favorite from your list! It’s a fun and sweet name. Easy to spell, easy to say.

  2. Miles is my second favorite. Still short and sweet. Common but not too common.

  3. Roscoe is my third favorite. I’m not a big fan of the nickname [name_m]Rocky[/name_m]. I just think of that movie and running up all the steps.

  4. Cassidy I picture as a girl’s name. I haven’t met any boy [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]’s and would automatically assume it was a girl name.

I love [name_u]Miles[/name_u] most, [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] being my second pick. Not a fan of [name_u]Milo[/name_u] or [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], personally. :woman_shrugging:t3:

This is tough, these names are all incredible  [name_u]Love[/name_u] your laid back, old school style.

I absolutely adore [name_u]Cass[/name_u], and it’s refreshing to see [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] considered for a boy again, so I’m going to rank that first. [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] “[name_u]Cass[/name_u]” gives me super cool, slightly bohemian, [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Kerouac[/name_m] kind of vibes.

Second [name_u]Miles[/name_u]. It’s smart and handsome, with the cool jazz connection. Something like [name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] or [name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_u]Calloway[/name_u] would be awesome. ([name_u]Or[/name_u] yes, even [name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_m]Kerouac[/name_m], since I’m getting that vibe from your list!)

Third [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] “[name_m]Rocky[/name_m]”. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u], it’s charming and rugged and mischievous and cool. [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] is a fun nickname.

Milo last. I really like it, but it’s cuter and less effortlessly cool than your other names to me, it feels perhaps a little trendy and definitely younger than the other names on your list. But it’s still a playful and slightly quirky choice.

Good luck :four_leaf_clover:

Cassidy is my absolutely favourite. It’s lovely and very refreshing to think of it making a comeback for boys. It gives me very nature and surfer boy vibes

Hi there.

Here are my favorite to least favorite rankings:

Milo-This name is really adorable. Smart, quirky, simple, not too terribly popular. Rising up the charts a little bit.

Roscoe-I’m usually not into this name or [name_m]Rocky[/name_m], but it’s so interesting & unexpected that I like the idea of it if you do. It’s kind of artsy & macho at the same time.

Miles-This is fine. It’s not as fun as [name_u]Milo[/name_u], & I hear it a lot.

Cassidy [name_m]John[/name_m]-I like [name_u]Cass[/name_u]. It’s cool & simple & fresh. [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] is used too much for girls though. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_m]Cassius[/name_m], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] or [name_m]Caspar[/name_m]?

Hope this helps.
