SO and I aren’t expecting yet, we want to wait until he finishes school next spring, but we have come to an agreement on our top two baby girls names and would love feedback!
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Lyric[/name]
&
[name]Harmony[/name] [name]Beth[/name]
Thanks in advance for any feedback. [name]Happy[/name] naming!
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Lyric[/name] is cute, but a little much for me. I feel like [name]Aria[/name] [name]Beth[/name] would be better because it’s not [name]OTT[/name] musical. [name]Aria[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] would be even better. [name]Harmony[/name] isn’t my style. A little ‘downmarket’ in vibe [name]IMO[/name]. Sorry! I really do love [name]Aria[/name]!
[name]Aria[/name] is really pretty. Personally, I agree that [name]Aria[/name] [name]Lyric[/name] is a bit much and would go for [name]Aria[/name] [name]Beth[/name], but that’s just me. [name]Harmony[/name] [name]Beth[/name] is pretty too.
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Lyric[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] - very very musical, and I personally don’t like [name]Lyric[/name]. Nice meaning, but the “ric” ending is jarring, especially paired with the insubstantial “[name]Aria[/name]”. I would suggest the alternatives of [name]Amara[/name], [name]Allegra[/name] (for the musical connotations, sort of), [name]Echo[/name], and think that [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Piper[/name] is lovely.
[name]Harmony[/name] [name]Beth[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] - [name]Harmony[/name] is cutesy and to my mind, tacky, and [name]Beth[/name] is a nickname. Would [name]Helena[/name] or (again) [name]Amara[/name] be of any interest?
I see you’ve got a music theme in your girls names ([name]Aria[/name], [name]Lyric[/name], [name]Harmony[/name], [name]Melody[/name]) – is that intentional and/or important?
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Lyric[/name], while nice, I feel two musical names together might be a bit too much. Funnily enough, I warmed to both [name]Harmony[/name] and [name]Beth[/name] whilst watching Glee, due to the characters with the name on the show. I would prefer [name]Beth[/name] [name]Harmony[/name] myself, but [name]Harmony[/name] [name]Beth[/name] is nice too.
I know a [name]Harmony[/name]- it is a fantastic name. [name]Harmony[/name] [name]Beth[/name] is lovely.
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Lyric[/name] is very musical sounding- maybe a tad too musical IMHO. [name]Aria[/name] with a different MN would be a winner. A different FN with [name]Lyric[/name] as a MN would be awesome. eg [name]Aria[/name] [name]Colette[/name] or (as pp suggested) [name]Amara[/name] [name]Lyric[/name]- the same way you have paired [name]Harmony[/name] with a less musical name.
[name]Aria[/name] is currently at the top of our list for girls and we love [name]Aria[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Aria[/name] [name]Mae[/name]. I agree with the other posts: [name]Aria[/name] [name]Lyric[/name] is just a tad too…well…lyrical.
[name]Beth[/name] is a nickname that just doesn’t do it for me as a FM, but [name]Harmony[/name] is quite sweet.
A little too much music going on here, in my opinion. I do like [name]Aria[/name] though, very pretty.
I like [name]Aria[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Or if you love [name]Beth[/name], I think [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Lyric[/name] would be very lovely, nn [name]Beth[/name]. Or [name]Bethany[/name] [name]Lyric[/name]. Or [name]Bethany[/name] [name]Aria[/name].
Thanks for all the feedback. [name]Music[/name] is a huge part our life, my SO and I actually met during a musical we both performed in and are continuously doing duets and performing, so the music theme is somewhat intentional.
[name]Beth[/name] is also a name that is a must for us as it is after his sister ([name]Bethany[/name]) who passed away in a car accident.
[name]Aria[/name], while a musical name, has just been a favorite of mine for many years and I do like it paired with [name]Beth[/name]. However then [name]Harmony[/name] and [name]Lyric[/name] do not go together at all. Other than the musical names listed neither of us like any others.
Originally I had chosen [name]Aria[/name] [name]Piper[/name], however with our last name ending in an -r we agreed that [name]Aria[/name] [name]Piper[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] is too much of a mouthful.
And I would just like to add I have a strong dislike toward “common” middle names, I feel people need to put a little more thought into a child’s name rather than just picking a middle name that 20+ other kids in the school are going to have. (ie [name]Rose[/name], [name]Marie[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Grace[/name] etc.)
