Outer Space/Universe Names

I have been fascinated with outer space since I was a child. My husband and I decided that we would like to give our daughter a “space” themed name. Our sons are named after constellations, [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] “[name_m]Leo[/name_m]” [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] and [name_u]Orion[/name_u] “[name_u]Ryan[/name_u]” [name_m]Apollo[/name_m]. We have a few ideas. Are they weird? Any suggestions?

Our Ideas:
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (LIE-rah) [name_u]Gemini[/name_u] (gem-min-I)
[name_f]Elara[/name_f] (EE-lara) [name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] (an-DROM-eh-DA) [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f] ([name_f]REE[/name_f]-ah) [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] ([name_u]Cass[/name_u]-EE-O-PEE-a)
[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] ([name_u]Cass[/name_u]-EE-O-PEE-a) [name_f]Faye[/name_f]

The only one I find off-putting is [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]. I’ve never like that way it sounds. I think [name_f]Elara[/name_f] is beautiful, but I don’t like it with [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. Personally, I think [name_f]Elara[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] and [name_u]Ara[/name_u] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] sound better as combos. [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_u]Gemini[/name_u] is also nice.

Suggestions:
[name_f]Selene[/name_f]/[name_f]Celine[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]/[name_f]Celestina[/name_f]/[name_f]Celestia[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]
[name_u]Vega[/name_u]
[name_f]Astra[/name_f]
[name_f]Elektra[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Oriana[/name_f]
[name_f]Vespera[/name_f]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u]

I think the only ones not listed that could be possible names might be [name_f]Aquila[/name_f] and [name_f]Ursa[/name_f]. Another suggestion is [name_f]Aria[/name_f] (from [name_m]Aries[/name_m]) From your list my favorite combo is [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]. My favorite names though are [name_f]Elara[/name_f] or [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] just not with those middles. I like [name_f]Elara[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] like the previous poster and would suggest [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] [name_u]Gemini[/name_u]. (I thought [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] sounded a bit too rhymey.)

I like [name_f]Elara[/name_f].

I think all of those names but [name_f]Elara[/name_f] are lovely!
You should look up moon names, like go to google and search “[name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] moon names, [name_u]Neptune[/name_u] moon names etc” you’ll find some lovely names like [name_f]Larissa[/name_f], Iocaste, Despina and many others

[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_u]Gemini[/name_u] is hands down my favorite.

Have you considered [name_f]Stella[/name_f] or [name_f]Luna[/name_f] as possibles? I know [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] isn’t listed for girls, but I think it would make an amazing middle name for a girl. I love a previous poster’s suggestion of [name_f]Nova[/name_f] as well.

[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f].
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], and [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_u]Gemini[/name_u].
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], and [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f].
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], and [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f].
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], and [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f].

Perhaps a shortened [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] to stand instead of [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] (which I think is a bit out there for a first name)?

[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], and [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_u]Gemini[/name_u].

There’s also [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], meaning ‘fiery’ like stars themselves.

[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_u]Gemini[/name_u]. (my favorite)

Many moons are named after characters from [name_m]Roman[/name_m] or Greek myths. They are beautiful but do check the corresponding myth to make sure you’re not naming your daughter after Medusa’s cousin unknowingly

to be honest I am Greek myself, and a mythological name having a “bad” meaning wouldnt bother me at all unless it was something really specific like Medusa!

I like [name_f]Luna[/name_f]!
