[name_u]Baby[/name_u] girl was due earlier this week and no sign of her making an appearance yet. We have decided to wait on finalizing the name until after she’s born, but we do have some favorites picked out. We only recently even started talking about middle names, so I could use some feedback.
***Additional question…another name we’ve considered is Calise/Kalise (pronounced like [name_f]Elise[/name_f]/[name_f]Alise[/name_f] but with a “kuh” sound at the beginning). [name_m]How[/name_m] would you spell it so it is most easily pronounced?
I like Aven [name_u]Harper[/name_u], Aven [name_u]Finley[/name_u], [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]. I’m sorry but I don’t like [name_u]Camryn[/name_u] or Calise at all. My favorite combo that you haven’t listed would be Aven [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
If I had to chose, Finley, even though it’s trendy will be dated in 10 years. Finley Elise or Finley Kate give her options to use a double name or go by her middle name if she for some reason wants a more traditional or feminine name.
Honestly, Aven looks made-up & boring (-aden names are incredibly popular right know) & Camryn has a confusing, illiterate spelling.
Calise looks so made up, and it remiss me most of Game of Thrones and the Khaleesi character. There are so many pretty & unusual names out here. Why sentence your child to a lifetime of having to explain her name to everyone?
Have you considered using Elise or Kate as first names? These are definitely the best names in your list.
some ideas:
Ava, Ava-Elise, Ava-Kate
Avis
Aveline
Eavan

Aura
Aurora (Aurie)
Charis

Callista / Callisto (“The most beautiful”) - you could use Calise as the nickname
Finola
[name_m]Caliste[/name_m] is a [name_m]French[/name_m] form of [name_f]Calista[/name_f], a Greek name meaning ‘most beautiful’. I’d opt for an actual name, rather than making one up entirely.
Aven isn’t a made up name. It’s Irish meaning fair radiance. I didn’t ask for critiques on the names we’ve already chosen, but on the middle name options. So if you’re not going to answer my actual question, please don’t bother leaving a response.
Aven [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is nice but I prefer a more feminine name like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] with it. I love actin though! So maybe Aven [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or Aven [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. Aven [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is beautiful as well!
I would spell it like [name_f]Annalise[/name_f], so Calise. There is also a spelling [name_f]Kelis[/name_f] that is pretty.
Aven isn’t Irish. There’s no V in the Irish language. It could be a rather badly anglicised version of [name_u]Aoibheann[/name_u] (AY-veen), but even then it’s about as authentically Irish as [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f]. Sorry, I know you don’t want critiques, but as an Irish speaker I just had to mention that.
My favorite on your list is [name_u]Finley[/name_u]. I actually prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u] on girls. I think it needs a more feminine/classic middle name than [name_u]Harper[/name_u] though. I like [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. What about [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]/[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]/[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]/[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]? Or if your prefer shorter [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]/[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]/[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]?
I like [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] from your options. I am a huge fan of [name_f]Elise[/name_f], so I would consider that instead of Calise.
