Overthinking things?

Hello!

I’m looking for some help, I’m currently 26 weeks with a baby girl who is our third and final baby. She has 2 big brothers: [name_u]Max[/name_u] [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] and [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m].

We both [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_f]Thea[/name_f] but our surname also has a ‘th’ sound in the middle so don’t know if it’s too much??

For middle names, we’re both in love with [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] makes me really happy! [name_m]Just[/name_m] not sure if [name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] go as a sibset. Combined with the double ‘th’ sound, it’s making me cautious even though we live the names. [name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_m]Josh[/name_m] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] sounds better though… are we overthinking things?

We’re still very much open to name suggestions but really struggle to find girls names we like. Some other names we like to give you an idea of our ‘vibe’…

[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]
[name_u]Rain[/name_u]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]

We really don’t ‘love’ any of them though. We’re stumped! Any help welcome. Thanks

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is gorgeous. [name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] make a wonderful sibling set. Go with the name you really feel in your heart.

That’s really kind, thank you! I do really feel like that’s ‘the’ name but there’s just a niggle in the back of my head for some reason!

You know, you could just be overthinking it. I told my [name_m]SIL[/name_m] about my love of [name_f]Elise[/name_f] but how it doesn’t work with our last name which starts with a ‘See’ syllable. She told me it flowed fine.

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful and I think it fits with her siblings just fine!!

Of your other names, [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is sweet. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]?

A couple of other ideas, just in case:

[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Alicia[/name_f]

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beyond beautiful! It’s normal to have wobbles but I think you’ve already found the perfect name. Best of luck!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] love love [name_f]Thea[/name_f], and think it compliments her brothers names well! It’s short and sweet like theirs and not super common either. It was a top on my girl lists but I can’t get my husband totally on board.

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful. I would never think to myself “[name_f]Thea[/name_f] doesn’t sound like it goes with [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_m]Josh[/name_m].”

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] would also be sweet- [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_m]Josh[/name_m], and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] does flow pretty seamlessly.

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a beautiful name. For me, using it would depend on your surname.

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] Bartholemew, for example, would not sound great at all imo. Or [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m]. But it’s hard to give a blanket statement without knowing the exact surname. My instinct, though, is that any surname with a -th in it would make the name sound too lispy. Full names are rarely said as full names, and you have to listen to how just [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and your surname sound when said out loud.

I adore [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and would use that in a heartbeat. Sounds perfect with [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_m]Josh[/name_m].

I don’t think any of your concerns are huuge deal breakers. the biggest one for me is the alliteration with your last name. Obviously I don’t know what your last name is, but I’m imagining [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_m]Thornton[/name_m] or [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m], and it is a bit of an issue for me - sounds kind funny and the double th- is a little bit hard to say.

However, i think as a sibset, the three names go great and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful, so its just your call on the first issue.

Oh, I’m sorry I just reread and saw that you said the “th” is in the middle of your last name, not the beginning - big difference! In that case, I really don’t think its a concern at all - sounds like you’ve found the name you love!

It sounds like your heart is set on [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I’m pairing it with multiple last names with th in the middle and I think it sounds great. I also think it sounds great with her brothers.
I always question our choice once it’s made, naming is a big decision. And the possibilities are endless. And there’s so little we know about this person who we need to give an identity to. Having doubts doesn’t mean you’re making the wrong choice. It just means you’re taking the task seriously. I think you’ve already found your winning name though. Good luck.

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is so beautiful and I would choose it, but if your heart is set on [name_f]Thea[/name_f], you should go with it

Thank you all so much for your replies!
Surname is [name_u]Guthrie[/name_u] so she would be
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_u]Guthrie[/name_u] or on a normal day…[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Guthrie[/name_u]. Is the double ‘th’ too much? Sometimes I say it and I think it’s fine, other times I’m not so sure! Thanks again

I like the flow and sound of [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Guthrie[/name_u] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] Gutherie.

Absolutely no problem with repeated “th”

I find I’m actually drawn to names that share a sound with my surname, so long as they don’t share too many! That commonality can make a name memorable without being too much, like [name_f]Angelina[/name_f] and [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] sharing strong j and l sounds.

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful, and I think Thea Guthrie sounds like a name people will remember!

Thea Autumn Rose is gorgeous. Max, Joshua, and Thea make a wonderful sibling set. Go with the name you really feel in your heart.

I agree! Is your surname something like [name_m]Matthews[/name_m]? [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] wouldn’t be a problem.
