Okay, we are set on naming our baby [name]Georgia[/name]. Or [name]Georgiana[/name]? But [name]Georgiana[/name] seems to have pronunciation issues. What do you think? Also I’m completely lost on middle name combos! I have so many! Please help me narrow it down!

I really dislike [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] [name]Caroline[/name], though… it sounds too much like you’re talking about an emerald from [name]Georgia[/name], to me.

As for [name]Georgiana[/name], it is one of my favorites! I love the British pronunciation ([name]George[/name]-ayna). I’m sure whichever pronunciation you prefer, people will get used to it.

Thanks guys! [name]Lindsay[/name], like you, I prefer the British [name]George[/name]-ayna. Though I’m actually warming up to the Gerorgie-on-uh pronunciation that I heard. I just don’t want her to be [name]George[/name]-anna. I also don’t want to feel like I’m saying my own daughter’s name wrong :frowning: I like all my combos, but I don’t really love any of them. Sigh, back to the drawing board… Oh, and how’s baby [name]Dash[/name] doing? [name]Dashiell[/name] is such a handsome name and I adore the nn [name]Dash[/name]!

Erinpurple, thanks for the suggestions. Weird, since I love Geogia and [name]Georgiana[/name], one would naturally think I loved [name]Georgina[/name], but sadly, that’s not the case. I want to like her, I really do. I just can’t. I don’t know why. :frowning:

I second everything [name]Lyndsay[/name] said, and absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Georgia[/name]! Of your combos (none of with which you said you’re thrilled…) I vote for [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Lily[/name] [name]Caroline[/name].

As for [name]Georgiana[/name], I’ve heard it pronounced three ways, which is why I stick with [name]Georgia[/name]. There’s Jor-[name]JAY[/name]-nuh, Jor-jee-ann-uh, and joj-jee-on-uh. I knew a baby jor-jee-ann-uh, and that pretty much brainwashed me into pronouncing the name that way, although I think all of the pronunciations are lovely. :slight_smile:

And while I like all of them, none of them feel like ‘the’ name, if you know what I mean. So I’m still open to suggestions, and thoughts on [name]Georgia[/name] vs. [name]Georgia[/name]. Thanks!

[name]Hi[/name] there. We need to help you find a name that’s THE ONE! As for [name]Georgia[/name] versus [name]Georgiana[/name], I love them both so much! If you love both of them, too, which is pretty clear, why not use [name]Georgiana[/name], which will give you [name]Georgia[/name] as a nickname? You’ll have the best of both worlds that way, and as she’ll be called [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Georgiana[/name]'s pronunciation won’t be as critical. With either [name]Georgia[/name] or [name]Georgiana[/name], you’ve got a winner!

My fave is [name]Georgia[/name] [name]May[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]! Sounds so well designed. Names are perfectly weighted. [name]Love[/name] nickname [name]Georgie[/name]!
The other choices are quite lovely, too!

Are you set on three names versus two? I think [name]Georgia[/name] [name]May[/name] is classic and unique all at the same time and doesn’t necessarily need anything else!

[name]Katy[/name] Segal has [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Esme[/name] [name]Louise[/name]. (I can’t remember what I did two seconds ago, but I know the names of these children. For me, [name]Sarah[/name] reminds me of the phrase “elegance is simplicity,” as it has such an understated beauty. I think it means princess, which is lovely. I grew up with about, oh, six Sarahs, but that didn’t make the name any less beautiful. (One [name]Sarah[/name] went by [name]Sally[/name], and another was [name]Sadie[/name], which I thought was darling!)

I’ve always liked [name]Sarah[/name] a lot, but because I associate it with someone who is the antithesis of what and how I want my children to be, I personally can’t use the name. (It’s that association thing…)

Is [name]Sarah[/name] trying to dethrone Miss [name]Georgiana[/name]?

And actually I have been thinking of her because when I googled the name [name]Georgia[/name], somewhere far, far, far down there on the google suggested sites, [name]Harry[/name] Connick [name]Jr[/name].'s [name]Georgia[/name] showed up, along with his [name]Sara[/name]. Thank you [name]Jill[/name] and [name]Susan[/name] and [name]Lyndsay[/name] and all the others who replied who’s names are escaping me at this moment!

I know a girl who’s first name is [name]Georgia[/name]-[name]Mae[/name]. I think it’s a gorgeous name even though I don’t particularly like the name [name]Georgia[/name].
I would pronounce [name]Georgiana[/name] Jor-Jee-[name]Ah[/name]-[name]Nuh[/name]. And, although I don’t really like [name]Georgia[/name] or [name]Georgina[/name], I love [name]Georgiana[/name].
