Overwhelmed

Okay, we are set on naming our baby [name]Georgia[/name]. Or [name]Georgiana[/name]? But [name]Georgiana[/name] seems to have pronunciation issues. What do you think? Also I’m completely lost on middle name combos! I have so many! Please help me narrow it down!

[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Lily[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Susanne[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]/ [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Susanne[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]May[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
Geogia [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]/ [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]/ [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Emerald[/name]

Well, those are my absolute favorites at this moment, I’d love to hear your favorites and also your thoughts on [name]Georgiana[/name]. Thanks!

[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Lily[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]- very pretty
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Susanne[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]/ [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Susanne[/name]- i think i prefer GCS
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]May[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]- i love [name]Georgia[/name] [name]May[/name], but not sure [name]Caroline[/name] sounds right with it, i much prefer [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]May[/name]
Geogia [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]/ [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]- i like GBC better, [name]Beatrix[/name] is one of my favorite names, but there’s something off about it here for me, i’m not sure what.
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]/ [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Emerald[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Emerald[/name], gorgeous! I really dislike [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] [name]Caroline[/name], though… it sounds too much like you’re talking about an emerald from [name]Georgia[/name], to me.

As for [name]Georgiana[/name], it is one of my favorites! I love the British pronunciation ([name]George[/name]-ayna). I’m sure whichever pronunciation you prefer, people will get used to it.

What about [name]Georgina[/name]?

[name]Georgina[/name] [name]May[/name]
[name]Georgina[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Georgina[/name] [name]Faith[/name]
[name]Georgina[/name] [name]Paige[/name]
[name]Georgina[/name] [name]Brooke[/name]

Thanks guys! [name]Lindsay[/name], like you, I prefer the British [name]George[/name]-ayna. Though I’m actually warming up to the Gerorgie-on-uh pronunciation that I heard. I just don’t want her to be [name]George[/name]-anna. I also don’t want to feel like I’m saying my own daughter’s name wrong :frowning: I like all my combos, but I don’t really love any of them. Sigh, back to the drawing board… Oh, and how’s baby [name]Dash[/name] doing? [name]Dashiell[/name] is such a handsome name and I adore the nn [name]Dash[/name]!

Erinpurple, thanks for the suggestions. Weird, since I love Geogia and [name]Georgiana[/name], one would naturally think I loved [name]Georgina[/name], but sadly, that’s not the case. I want to like her, I really do. I just can’t. I don’t know why. :frowning:

I second everything [name]Lyndsay[/name] said, and absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Georgia[/name]! Of your combos (none of with which you said you’re thrilled…) I vote for [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Lily[/name] [name]Caroline[/name].

As for [name]Georgiana[/name], I’ve heard it pronounced three ways, which is why I stick with [name]Georgia[/name]. There’s Jor-[name]JAY[/name]-nuh, Jor-jee-ann-uh, and joj-jee-on-uh. I knew a baby jor-jee-ann-uh, and that pretty much brainwashed me into pronouncing the name that way, although I think all of the pronunciations are lovely.

[name]Jill[/name]- thanks. Sorry, I should have been more clear. The combos above are my favorites of the ones that we have considered. And while I like all of them, none of them feel like ‘the’ name, if you know what I mean. So I’m still open to suggestions, and thoughts on [name]Georgia[/name] vs. [name]Georgia[/name]. Thanks!

[name]Hi[/name] there. We need to help you find a name that’s THE ONE! As for [name]Georgia[/name] versus [name]Georgiana[/name], I love them both so much! If you love both of them, too, which is pretty clear, why not use [name]Georgiana[/name], which will give you [name]Georgia[/name] as a nickname? You’ll have the best of both worlds that way, and as she’ll be called [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Georgiana[/name]'s pronunciation won’t be as critical. With either [name]Georgia[/name] or [name]Georgiana[/name], you’ve got a winner!

Some more [name]Georgia[/name] combos (not sure if you still want two middles, and am also not sure of names which will honor your loved ones):

[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Delphine[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Faith[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]May[/name]/[name]Mae[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Rosaline[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] (although it may be too Gone With The Wind…)
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Tess[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Violet[/name]

I’m sure you’ve already thought of these, but I still hope this helped at least one itty bit!

My fave is [name]Georgia[/name] [name]May[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]! Sounds so well designed. Names are perfectly weighted. [name]Love[/name] nickname [name]Georgie[/name]!
The other choices are quite lovely, too!

Are you set on three names versus two? I think [name]Georgia[/name] [name]May[/name] is classic and unique all at the same time and doesn’t necessarily need anything else!

[name]Jill[/name]- Thank you so much! I really do appreciate all the time you put into your post! And as for honoring, I’m at the point where I’m just looking for a name my husband and I love, whether it honors or not.

[name]Susan[/name]- Thanks! [name]Georgia[/name] [name]May[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is lovely and it has nice rhythm, but it feels kind of plain to me now. :frowning:

[name]Erin[/name]- Thank you! Yes, I’m completely set on two muddles because my three older children each have two, wouldn’t want her to feel left out!

I am now leaning towards [name]Georgiana[/name] in full (thanks [name]Jill[/name]!) What do you guys think of [name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]?

[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] is awesome! Wow! Here are some more ideas just for fun:

[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Jane[/name]

[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]May[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Lily[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] [name]May[/name]

 (I edited it to add a few more names. I thought of them while making cream of mushroom soup, and even though this fact is completely irrelevant, I’ve already shared the information, and am too lazy to delete it.)

I added a few more to the above post!

Thanks [name]Jill[/name], I totally understand! They are lovely suggestions! Something about Gerogiana [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] is just staying with me…I’m thinking it might be the perfect name for my baby!

*Sorry if I seem stupid, but are you expecting? I haven’t seen any recent posts of yours that say if you are or not… Though I doubt you need help coming up with names! Sorry, I have baby brain right now so you might have a hundred posts out there and I wouldn’t have noticed. (Though I know you wouldn’t do that, haha) Oh, and I hope your soup turned out to be delicious!

Also, there’s a name I keep thinking about. I’m definitely not considering it, its’ not even in my top 20. The name is [name]Sarah[/name]. Yep, simple, plain, classic [name]Sarah[/name]. [name]Just[/name] want to know people’s thoughts on her.

AHA! [name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] is THE ONE!! Woo-hoo!! I didn’t realize this! Congratulations! (I’m singing “You’re Still The One” right now…) As for me, nope I’m not expecting, but hope to start a family within the next few years. I hope Nameberry and all of you are still here then, because I’ll definitely want feedback from the Nameberries!

Anyway, I love [name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]! ([name]Beatrix[/name] is one of my new obsessions, by the way.)

[name]Sarah[/name]. Hmm…Well, I think [name]Sarah[/name] is a gorgeous name, and it’s funny you should bring it up, as [name]Harry[/name] Connick, [name]Jr[/name]. has a [name]Georgia[/name] and a [name]Sara[/name] [name]Kate[/name] (a [name]Charlotte[/name], too). [name]Katy[/name] Segal has [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Esme[/name] [name]Louise[/name]. (I can’t remember what I did two seconds ago, but I know the names of these children. Hmm…

For me, [name]Sarah[/name] reminds me of the phrase “elegance is simplicity,” as it has such an understated beauty. I think it means princess, which is lovely. I grew up with about, oh, six Sarahs, but that didn’t make the name any less beautiful. (One [name]Sarah[/name] went by [name]Sally[/name], and another was [name]Sadie[/name], which I thought was darling!)

I’ve always liked [name]Sarah[/name] a lot, but because I associate it with someone who is the antithesis of what and how I want my children to be, I personally can’t use the name. (It’s that association thing…)

Is [name]Sarah[/name] trying to dethrone Miss [name]Georgiana[/name]?

As for my soup, it is delicious! Thanks for asking!

Haha, you are too fun! No, there is no way [name]Sarah[/name] will dethrone [name]Georgiana[/name]. And actually I have been thinking of her because when I googled the name [name]Georgia[/name], somewhere far, far, far down there on the google suggested sites, [name]Harry[/name] Connick [name]Jr[/name].'s [name]Georgia[/name] showed up, along with his [name]Sara[/name]. Thank you [name]Jill[/name] and [name]Susan[/name] and [name]Lyndsay[/name] and all the others who replied who’s names are escaping me at this moment!

[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] is beautiful! [name]Georgiana[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name] are two of my favorites, so of course I love it! I normally don’t adore [name]Evelyn[/name], but this combo is really making it grow on me! I’m so excited that you’re going to use the name [name]Georgiana[/name]! Especially because you’re going to pronounce it the way that I love. It’s good to know that soon there will be at least one little [name]Georgiana[/name] running around in [name]America[/name] (or at least I think you’re in [name]America[/name]… doesn’t matter either way, really!) When are you due?

As for [name]Sarah[/name]… hmm, I’ve never really considered this one. She’s a little plain for my tastes. Though I’d much prefer that over, say, [name]Taylor[/name] on a little girl.

[name]Lyndsay[/name]- Thanks! Yes, I’m in the U.S. And I’m due [name]May[/name] 5. Once again thanks so much!

I love the name [name]Georgiana[/name] because that is Mr. [name]Darcy[/name]'s little sister’s name in “Pride and Prejudice”. She is a lovely girl. If I had a bunch of kids, I could give them all names from"Pride and Prejudice" and “[name]Jane[/name] Eyre”, two of my very fave books:
[name]Edward[/name] [name]Rochester[/name]
[name]Charles[/name] Bingley
[name]Fitzwilliam[/name] [name]Darcy[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Darcy[/name]
[name]St[/name]. [name]John[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Helen[/name] [name]Burns[/name]
[name]Adele[/name]
[name]Pilot[/name] (the dog)

I know a girl who’s first name is [name]Georgia[/name]-[name]Mae[/name]. I think it’s a gorgeous name even though I don’t particularly like the name [name]Georgia[/name].
I would pronounce [name]Georgiana[/name] Jor-Jee-[name]Ah[/name]-[name]Nuh[/name]. And, although I don’t really like [name]Georgia[/name] or [name]Georgina[/name], I love [name]Georgiana[/name].
