Thoughts? I’ve always overlooked it but now it’s winning me over! Which spelling do you prefer- [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_m]Eoin[/name_m] or [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m]? If it helps, we have picked out [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] (mah-raid) for a girls name, so [name_u]Owen[/name_u]/[name_m]Eoin[/name_m]/[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] could potentially have a sister [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] in the future. We are in the US so I’m worried about pronunciation issues with [name_m]Eoin[/name_m]/[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] (though I’m not bothered by the [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] spelling but [name_m]Eoin[/name_m] & [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] are a bit more difficult…). I love how [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] & [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] look together though! What do you all think? Thanks!
I really like [name_u]Owen[/name_u], It’s my favorite boys name right now! I prefer the [name_u]Owen[/name_u] spelling
I know someone with a [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] and thought it was pronounced My-read. Learned something new today! I actually like my make-believe pronunciation better. I agree that [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] looks better with [name_f]Mairead[/name_f], but will most likely be butchered regularly.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_u]Owen[/name_u]! It is one of my favorite boy names. While I like the way the [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] spelling looks with [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] I think that if you plan on living in the US that he will have issues with how to say it from others.
It’s a wonderful name. Very handsome. I also prefer the spelling [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] but [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is fine too.
