Oz, Bayes, Hart, etc

Ok, so I love quirky boys names. My sons are [name_u]Dash[/name_u] and [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]. Trying to have a third and if it’s a boy we’re going to have a hard time naming him something everyone doesn’t hate. Haha. When pregnant with [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] we LOVED the name Bayes (heard of [name_u]Baze[/name_u] from the show Life Unexpected and didn’t want to use that alone, or [name_m]Basil[/name_m]. So I came up with Bayes thinking it looked more like a surname. Everyone hated it so much and it intimidated me, but he’s 5 now and I still love the name). We also considered [name_m]Hart[/name_m] for him and nixed it for similar reasons. I often think that he easily could have pulled off either name. Husband still loves [name_m]Hart[/name_m], and I do, too. The other name I love is [name_m]Oz[/name_m]. There are tons of reasons I like it, but I’m afraid it’s too nicknamey. [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] doesn’t sound good with our last name (rhymes with [name_m]Decker[/name_m]), and I’m not a fan of [name_m]Oswald[/name_m], [name_m]Osmond[/name_m], etc. I like a few more mainstream names, like [name_u]Rex[/name_u] and [name_m]Milo[/name_m], but husband isn’t a big fan. Please advise.

Which do you like, if any? And any suggestions you think I might like?

This was a fun one! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] these suggestions help!

[name_u]Dash[/name_u], [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] and Wllard

or [name_u]Dash[/name_u], [name_u]Flynn[/name_u], and [name_m]Sly[/name_m]

or [name_u]Dash[/name_u], [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] and [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]

I like [name_u]Dash[/name_u], [name_u]Flynn[/name_u], and [name_m]Hart[/name_m]! Go for it! (Ps I like [name_u]Rex[/name_u] with your set, too). Not so much a fan of oz or bayes, though.

I think Bayes and [name_m]Hart[/name_m] are fantastic names!! [name_m]Oz[/name_m] I’m not so wild about, I agree about it being so nicknamey.
I don’t see Bayes being a problem as a name, and I know I guy with [name_m]Hart[/name_m] as a middle name, so I think those are lovely options. Both go well with the brothers names too.
All the best!

I stopped mentioning any names to people because everyone has an opinion. When I am preg I have a decoy name, a name I like but won’t use like [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m]. That way if ppl say anything about these names I don’t care. Most people have no imagination. I like Bayes more than hart but [name_m]Hart[/name_m] is also great and goes well w boys names. What about [name_m]Oslo[/name_m] as a full name for oz?

I love so many of those!

Can’t believe someone said [name_m]Quill[/name_m], I’ve loved that since the Twilight books came out! Oh and [name_u]Trace[/name_u]! I love an internet host named [name_u]Trace[/name_u] Domingues!

A ton of those are ones we’ve considered, but can’t use for one reason or another. We know a [name_m]Teague[/name_m], [name_m]Knox[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m], [name_m]Mack[/name_m] and [name_m]Tripp[/name_m], for instance! And my parents dog’s name is [name_m]Banks[/name_m]! Which I had never thought of for a human until they got him and I ended up loving the name. Our cat is Higgs, and I love it. I apparently really love one syllable boy names.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the initial R for boys, and went into the hospital with [name_u]Reeve[/name_u], [name_u]Reece[/name_u], [name_u]Reid[/name_u] and [name_u]Gray[/name_u] for [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]!

I wish I adored [name_m]Creed[/name_m], because my mother in law is Creety and it’s been tricky trying to find something to honor her. I love [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] but worry about the Hebrew aspect, we’re not religious and I love a lot of Biblical names, but I’m afraid they’d be weird to use. I love [name_u]Beck[/name_u] but our last name that rhymes with [name_m]Decker[/name_m] starts with B. I’d use [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] in a heartbeat, but I think it’s a little much with our last name. And we’d be SUPER committed to calling him [name_u]Beck[/name_u].

[name_m]Wells[/name_m] is really cool. [name_u]Whit[/name_u], Chord/[name_m]Court[/name_m]. I’m intrigued by [name_u]Navy[/name_u]. Would it be weird to use if we’re not a [name_u]Navy[/name_u] family? My great-grandfather was a [name_u]Navy[/name_u] man. Also, is it feminine?

Thanks so much for your help!

I love [name_m]Hart[/name_m]! There was a character on the soap opera Guiding [name_m]Light[/name_m] named [name_m]Hart[/name_m] [name_m]Jessup[/name_m] and I always thought it was so handsome! I also like [name_m]Ryker[/name_m], [name_m]Hawk[/name_m] or Hawkins, and [name_m]Stone[/name_m] with your sibset.

What do you think of [name_m]Oakes[/name_m]? I think someone suggested it and it got me intrigued. I checked and it’s in my family tree! I love the nature imagery, and symbolism of the oak tree. What do you think?
