Paisley? Bronte?

[name_u]Paisley[/name_u] or [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] for a daughter?

Both are lovely but I prefer [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] for the [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] sister’s link

I personally have never really been a fan of [name_f]Bronte[/name_f], for me it has a weird sound. I really love [name_u]Paisley[/name_u] though so I would have to vote for that.

I’d go with [name_u]Paisley[/name_u], although I know it’s not well liked around here. It’s been a GP of mine for a few years and I love it. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] is also nice but it does have an odd sound like mentioned above, which I’ve never really been a fan of.

I would go with [name_u]Paisley[/name_u], but [name_u]Paisley[/name_u] is considered trendy/trashy, while [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] is considered snobbish/weird. [name_u]Paisley[/name_u] and [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] are both surnames, which is BIG, BIG trend right now, and is rising rapidly, and it’s also hated more and more.

I like [name_u]Paisley[/name_u] because it has beautiful sound (and paisley pattern is quite pretty).

I love [name_f]Bronte[/name_f], not a fan of [name_u]Paisley[/name_u]…it’s just too cheap sounding to me.

I think [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] is lovely.

Though I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Eyre[/name_f], I can’t support [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] whole-heartedly. It would be a good middle name for a girl, along with [name_u]Austen[/name_u] in honor of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] and support of women authors in general. As mentioned, [name_u]Paisley[/name_u] has a trendy vibe that may color people’s perception of a child/adult.

[name_u]Paisley[/name_u] is better

[name_f]Bronte[/name_f] - I love the literary connection, and it reminds me of [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f], which I love. It would fit in/stand out with all of the Brynns and Braeleighs and such, but it sounds more solid than a lot of those names.

If I had to pick one, it’d be [name_u]Paisley[/name_u], though I don’t like either as a first name. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] feels really clunky and masculine to me (plus, kind of pretentious since I assume it gets used as a literary reference). [name_u]Paisley[/name_u] feels really trendy but at least it also feels feminine and much lighter when you say it out loud.

The sound of [name_u]Paisley[/name_u] makes me cringe…then I think about paramecium. And ugly ties. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] is better, but surnames should come from the child’s family tree.
