I like it cause it’s the name of a song I like by [name]Jolie[/name] [name]Holland[/name] but it’s a plant, an ancient city & a lot of American towns as well that I don’t know much about.
There’s a [name]Palmyra[/name] in my state. That’s all I can really think of, sorry. I like [name]Moira[/name] and [name]Paloma[/name] much more, personally, sorry.
There’s a suburb in [name]Perth[/name], Western Australia, called [name]Palmyra[/name]. My friend lives there. So it sounds utterly weird as a baby name, for me.
I don’t like the sound of it anyway, or of [name]Myra[/name].
[name]Paloma[/name] is much prettier, [name]IMO[/name].
I don’t like it. The Palm part makes me think of hands, trees and that urban legend about masturbating making you grow hairs on your palms. The [name]Myra[/name] part sounds dated and downmarket.
My gym trainer is named [name]Palmira[/name] (pronounced pal-meer-ah). And there is a town near where I live called [name]PalmYra[/name]. Although they’re not my style, if you decide to name your baby that I’m sure it will work for her and suit her, as the similar name does for my trainer.
I personally cannot stand the name [name]Moira[/name] (for the same reason many people hate / laugh at the word “moist”… [name]Say[/name] it slowly, accentuate the vowels, what a gross word!) and I’d choose palmyra over [name]Paloma[/name].
It’s all about personal taste really.
I think of Palmolive dish soap. I think [name]Palmira[/name] is a little prettier. I prefer [name]Myra[/name] over [name]Palmyra[/name]. I think it could be an interesting middle. I think just Palm or [name]Palma[/name] might work better, although there are some of the unfortunate references pp makes to those as well, and they’re maybe even clearer.
I prefer [name]Myra[/name] over [name]Palmyra[/name] but I wouldn’t choose either. If you like those kind of letters then maybe try [name]Miriam[/name]. ([name]Wild[/name] guess but hey!)
