Paloma prounciation?

I know traditional pronunciation is pah-lo-ma, but I prefer it as pay-lo-ma, with the long “a” in pa. Anyone heard it pronounced like that?

Sorry no, I’ve only ever heard ‘pah-lo-ma’.

No, I’ve only heard pah lo ma

I’ve never heard it that way, either.

[name]Nor[/name] have I, and I think that the name loses some of its charm pronounced that way.

[name]Just[/name] Pah-LOW-ma. Pay-low-ma sounds very odd to me.

No, it’s puh-low-muh. Spanish is very phonetic; a pretty much always makes an “uh” sound when it’s not with another vowel.
