Are [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] too close for sisters?
[name_m]How[/name_m] about if there are other names in the sibset that don’t begin with P?
At the moment I’m crushing on [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], [name_u]Oberon[/name_u], [name_f]Pandora[/name_f], [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]…
I think all those names you listed would work as a sibset. I would recommend not using the 2 P names on the first 2 children if possible. If you had [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] then a third it isn’t so great to then have a [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]. But [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] in the middle would break it up nicely and people wouldn’t see a theme
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] as sisters!!!
Though, the first nicknames that come to mind are [name_f]Dora[/name_f] and [name_u]Percy[/name_u]. I personally hate the nickname [name_f]Dora[/name_f], because of the series [name_f]Dora[/name_f] the [name_u]Explorer[/name_u]. [name_u]Percy[/name_u] I think it’s cute.
For me, naming your two first daughters with P names isn’t a problem. I believe each kid is different from another, as well as, the circumstances which kids were born. But if that bothers you, consider what @wimbledonberry said.
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], because of the strong connection with the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] saga. Maybe that’s what you like about [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]…
IDEAS:
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f]
[name_f]Calixta[/name_f]
[name_f]Andromeda[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]
[name_f]Calipso[/name_f]
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f]
[name_f]Iphigenia[/name_f]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] /ia
Well, it could be said that you’re starting a P trend, but the trend for me is the mythology. [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] & [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] are apart enough for me with the [name_m]Per[/name_m]- and [name_m]Pan[/name_m]- sounds, but I wouldn’t use these two names right after each other.
I don’t think so, I more thought of the Greek mythology connection, and I was going to say that’s great. Somehow I have a lot of P names at the top of my list too, which can cause some sibset issues as well haha :). But I agree with @wimbeldonberry, and I think it depends on rest of the sibset. Two P names within a sibset of more than three is absolutely fine in my opinion. By the way (as you probably already know) I love, love, love [name_f]Pandora[/name_f], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and so many more of the names in your sig. too!
Thank you all for your help I would love to hear any more opinions!
I don’t think I’d use them right after each other. If I ended up wanting to use two names that began with the same letter, I’d save the other one for a third child rather than the second. That being said, my issue here is you’ve got the same first letters but also another strong and obvious theme in their mythological backgrounds.
With so many connections I don’t think I personally would use the names for two of my kids even with one in between. That’s me though. You seem to like a lot of mythological names so that might be your style and it’s more likely you’d go for another name that happens to be mythological than one that’s not. So in your case it’s almost stupid to throw out all names with that association, if that makes sense. I would still probably try to do a non-P name for [name_u]Baby[/name_u] #2 though just to break it up a little.
I think [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] sound a bit silly together.
Definitely love [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] though. [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] would go with this better than [name_f]Persephone[/name_f].
Thank you all for your feedback!
