Paranormal cast of monster hunters with meaningful names?

I’m starting a solely for fun project about a group of young adults recruited to form a small team of investigators who hunt down paranormal creatures. Haven’t decided scale but that isn’t super relevant, the only other thing that really is so far is it’s definitely going to take place in the USA.

I want the names to have meaning for their roles, though, because that’s something I always do. I have three names picked to give an idea of what I want for the rest:

[name_m]Simon[/name_m]- means listening, and I’m going to make him a medium, someone who can talk to/hear ghost and/or other creatures that others can’t.

[name_f]Moira[/name_f]- means bitter, but is also tied to the Greek fates. Thinking about her getting prophetic visions of deaths and/or other tragedies that she can’t change.

[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]- Temptress, essentially. Planning on giving her some lure factor for the monsters, and she’s kind of like bait for lack of a better way of putting it. Definitely a main, if not the main, character with some important background lending itself to her being a lure for monsters.

I want the names to sound good with these three, as they already sound like a nice set to me. I don’t want anything too wild, but unusual is okay as long as it’s pre-estabished and not spelled weird. Any meaning that can be stretched a bit to fit this theme and give some role or ability hidden in the name is what I’m going for first and foremost. I’m especially struggling with boy names, and I want as close to 50/50 as I can get with the cast.

Other names I’ve considered but am either not using or waffling on if you need an additional feel:

[name_f]Enid[/name_f]- spirit. Would’ve had her be able to read auras or something but I know I don’t want her to be a medium bc of [name_m]Simon[/name_m]. [name_f]Aura[/name_f] reading feels just a little out of place so I’m unsure of using it.

[name_m]Malakai[/name_m]- messenger of god. Another prophet name, but I liked [name_f]Moira[/name_f] better, and the hard EYE ending next to [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] bugged me a bit.

[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]- another prophet name. I prefer [name_f]Moira[/name_f] to [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] with the set, so I’m not using it. But mythological connotations to meanings fit what I’m looking for, as well.

[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]- associated with Daedalus’ Labyrinth. She’d have psychic navigation or something of the like, as a nod to the namesake’s string to help navigate the labyrinth in the story.

Thank you for reading even if nothing comes to mind, and any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

How cool! I love the mythological connections. [name_f]May[/name_f] I suggest a name meaning bird, since ancient Romans used birds as a means of divination? Perhaps Avia/Avis/Ava.

Not sure how helpful this’ll be, but here goes!

[name_m]Levi[/name] - After reading your three set names, I immediately thought of [name_m]Levi[/name]. Looking around, [name_m]Levi[/name] comes up to have a lot of meanings. In Hebrew, it means ‘joined’ or ‘attached’, and is often associated with harmony and unity. It also can be directly translated to ‘light’, and could be derived from the name [name_f]Leah[/name], which means ‘weary’. Could be perfect for a team leader or the glue of the team.

[name_u]Artemis[/name] - Could be used for either a guy or a gal. [name_u]Artemis[/name] is the Greek goddess of the hunt and the moon, both of which are rather paranormal-investigatory. It means ‘safe’, ‘healthy’, ‘strong’ and ‘bright’ in Greek, specifically derived from the word artemes. Other names for [name_u]Artemis[/name] include [name_f]Phoebe[/name], [name_f]Cynthia[/name] and [name_f]Diana[/name], if you want a slightly more subtle reference. (Also, could go with just [name_u]Artie[/name] for a boy, which is a nickname I adore for [name_u]Artemis[/name])

[name_m]Hugo[/name] - a male name meaning spirit! Maybe an alternative to [name_f]Enid[/name]?

[name_u]Ryder[/name] - from an English occupational surname, means ‘cavalryman’ or ‘messenger’. It’s also a fairly popular name nowadays and one that fits really well with your set.

Some other suggestions I’m not going to go too deep in:
– water related or near to water related names (references to dowsing/dowsing rods, as well as the large number of near-water hauntings and entities); i.e. [name_f]Spring[/name], [name_m]Roswell[/name], [name_f]Talia[/name], [name_u]Kai[/name], [name_u]Ariel[/name].
– nighttime related names (because most paranormal activity occurs late at night); i.e. [name_f]Layla[/name], [name_f]Ameya[/name], [name_m]Nadir[/name].

I also really like [name_f]Ariadne[/name] with your set! You’ve got some great names, I wish you the best of luck on your story!

I like [name_f]Enid[/name_f] with the other names, but another option is [name_u]Alma[/name_u] which means soul.

[name_m]Malakai[/name_m]:
[name_u]Jonah[/name_u], [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u], [name_u]Elijah[/name_u], [name_u]Amos[/name_u], [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] - all biblical prophets/messengers
[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] - means immortal but I really like it with the others

[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]:
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] - [name_m]Hermes[/name_m] mother

I like [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], the only other similar character I can think of is [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] from Labyrinth. Also you could use nn’s like [name_u]Ari[/name_u] or [name_f]Addy[/name_f]

This is actually a pretty neat idea for a writing project. In my opinion, while they’re not particularly rare, I think [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] or [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] could work for character names. They both mean “defending men”, which might tie in nicely for monster hunters (:
