Paris... is it forever tied with Paris Hilton?

Here in Greece, [name_u]Paris[/name_u] is a male name. While I dont mind the mythology figure, I really dislike the connection with [name_u]Paris[/name_u] [name_m]Hilton[/name_m]. If my son was in some other country (besides Greece) do you think he would be teased for his name or the people will think first of [name_u]Paris[/name_u] [name_m]Hilton[/name_m] and not the mytholgy character or the lovely city?

I’m from the USA and [name_u]Paris[/name_u] [name_m]Hilton[/name_m] didn’t even come to mind. I think this will depend on what type of social circles you keep (I don’t follow a lot of celebrity stuff so it wouldn’t be a first association to me). My first thoughts were [name_u]Paris[/name_u] from [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls and the city then the mythological connection. None necessarily bad.

[name_u]Paris[/name_u] is lovely! Honestly, [name_u]Paris[/name_u] [name_m]Hilton[/name_m] hadn’t even crossed my mind… just maybe an Eiffel [name_m]Tower[/name_m] :slight_smile:

I just think of the city. I don’t think it’s connected to [name_m]Hilton[/name_m]; she’s not really on the radar these days anyway.

Nope, I dont think [name_u]Paris[/name_u] [name_m]Hilton[/name_m] is relevant enough anymore. But I do think its a girls name.

I think of the male character from [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] & [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] before [name_u]Paris[/name_u] [name_m]Hilton[/name_m].

I knew a Kurdish guy named [name_u]Paris[/name_u], it’s an okay name, but I guess I’m just saying that because he was really mean. >.<

When I hear it, I think of the recent terrorist attack there.

I haven’t seen [name_u]Paris[/name_u] [name_m]Hilton[/name_m] on a tabloid at the grocery store checkout line in ages, so I assume she’s no longer relevant.
