SO just turned down my favourite boy name - [name_m]Macsen[/name_m]. (As it’s too close to [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]).
Are there any suggestions you can give me based on my signature?
If it helps I tend to like Tolkien-esque, Obscure ‘Victorian’, Celtic/Gaelic (sounding, doesn’t necessarily have to be either) and ‘Fairytale’ sounding. Basically if they sound like they belong on an Victorian Gentleman, Dashing [name_m]Rogue[/name_m] or from a Grimm brothers story.
Not pregnant, just now looking for other names I can suggest to him since he’s said no to every one I’ve come up with so far.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about something close to [name_m]Mac[/name_m]… [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]? No?
Some of my favourite Celtic names:
[name_m]Cormack[/name_m]
[name_u]Douglas[/name_u]
[name_m]Kenneth[/name_m]
[name_u]Neil[/name_u]
[name_m]Connell[/name_m]/[name_m]Connor[/name_m]
[name_u]Kiernan[/name_u]/[name_m]Kier[/name_m]
[name_m]Colm[/name_m]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_u]Blaine[/name_u]
First name I thought of was Isidore. Romantic Tolkienesc name with history.
Next I thought of Oren. A very old arboreal name that seems very modern. A hipster name waiting to take off. Fun personal fact I can trace my family back to the colony at Plymouth. I have two Oren’s in my family tree from that time.
Jensen though it starts with J and ends with an n it does not seem close to Jackson. A strong last name at first name option.
Leviathan - This one is a bit more out there. Though with the option of going by Levi or Lev it makes it more wearable. A cool nautical name that plays with mythology, and history.
Finally Gawain. A Welsh heroic name is beautiful and with an inserting history. Could nickname him Guy which is also a great name!
