Some thoughts on [name_u]Patsy[/name_u]? I saw a dog named that online and I thought it was adorable on a human too. What vibes do you get from [name_u]Patsy[/name_u]?

I feel like I want to like it but I just can’t bring myself to. It still feels a little mid-century dated and those names haven’t come around to being in vogue again yet, but I do feel like they will soon. But because of that, it’s hard to imagine on a young person for me. I also feel like it sounds quite harsh? And it’s too close of a leap to Fatsy / Fatso to me, but maybe that wouldn’t be such an issue for a modern child (as anecdotally I hear that bullying based on names seems to not be as much of a thing as when I was in school!) I will say I can see the appeal for others. It has a very friendly, down-home kinda feel.

I immediately think of [name_u]Patsy[/name_u] Cline! It feels like an ahead-of-the-curve choice; it’s not a personal favorite of mine, but other names of its era and style are coming back into fashion!

I know a 5-year-old [name_u]Patsy[/name_u] and think it’s adorably spunky on a little one! She was named for her great-grandma (who was probably Patricia), but little [name_u]Patsy[/name_u] is just [name_u]Patsy[/name_u].

I think of [name_m]Ab[/name_m] Fab and [name_f]Patience[/name_f] ‘Patsy’ Mount from Call the Midwife ~ so overall it feels pleasantly brisk, endearingly posh, sunny and springlike and with a vintagey mid-century charm.
