Paxton or Mannox?

I really like [name]Paxton[/name] [name]Beau[/name], it sounds really nice.

I donā€™t like either of them. Theyā€™re both trying too hard to be trendy in my opinion, and trendiness in naming isnā€™t something Iā€™d go for. The trends are mostly trendy among the lowest common denominator.

If I had to choose I would pick [name]Paxton[/name], because Mannox sounds like something a 15 yearold would make up.

Iā€™m not saying any of this to be rude, just to put it out there that this is exactly what I, and maybe others, really think.

Hmmā€¦ Any suggestions then?? Part of our baby naming problem is we are currently working in [name]Jakarta[/name], so we need to fly to Singapore to have baby, put name on birth certificate immediately to be able to get passport paperwork underway to fly out again, so we donā€™t have time to see what he ā€˜looks likeā€™ and we need to have a baby name decided nowish. Eep.

I donā€™t see anything wrong with the name [name]Paxton[/name]. Itā€™s not my style but it sounds like a perfectly good name. People have very different tastes and youā€™re never gonna find a name that everybody likes. [name]Just[/name] because someone doesnā€™t like it, it doesnā€™t mean itā€™s terrible.

I also love the meaning of [name]Paxton[/name] btw.

Yeah I do tooā€¦ because Iā€™m probably secretly a little bit buddhist it resonates well with me.

I actually love [name]Paxton[/name]! It does have a bit of a trendy vibe to me, but I love the nn [name]Pax[/name], and that it means ā€œpeaceā€ in Latin. I think [name]Paxton[/name] [name]Beau[/name] is really handsome, and I would definitely go for that!

I agree, Iā€™m not crazy about Mannoxā€“would you consider [name]Maddox[/name] instead? Itā€™s quite handsome and has the attractive nn of [name]Max[/name] if you want one. :slight_smile:

[name]Paxton[/name] [name]Beau[/name] is very nice, Iā€™d definitely go with that. Mannox sounds like a made up version of [name]Maddox[/name], and since heā€™ll probably be in school with several boys by that name that probably isnā€™t the way to go. [name]Paxton[/name] is lovely though and I love middle name [name]Beau[/name].

Hmmmā€¦ I like your suggestions. Definitely something to think about! I liked [name]Xander[/name] for a while but have gone off it for some reasonā€¦ I do really like the sound of X names for this one, have no idea why really. My son has named him [name]Alex[/name] and wonā€™t consider any other suggestions, so maybe itā€™s his fault! :slight_smile: if we used Mannox then he would be knox for short but Iā€™m not sure if that really works.

Thanks for your feedback! Iā€™m kind of out of the loop when it comes to whatā€™s trendy or not living in Indonesia for the last few years. Most of the kids here have Muslim names and my son only has a couple of western kids in his class at school but something to think about for our next posting (wherever that might be!)

So thatā€™s a no to Mannox then!? Haha itā€™s a name I saw in a baby name book yesterday but I think it might be more of a girly name here anyhow. I kind of liked the name [name]Preston[/name] (my husband doesnā€™t) but it canā€™t be shortened down, where [name]Paxton[/name] sounds similar but can be shortened to [name]Pax[/name] as a nickname. I am really still not sure though. Thanks for all your feedback and suggestions, itā€™s very helpfulā€¦ any more ideas would be more than welcome.

I love [name]Jonah[/name]ā€¦ The only thing that puts me off is that i am from new Zealand and itā€™s the name of a very famous rugby playerā€¦ Which I am not so much a fan of. Hmm.
