I just found out my first grandson’s name will be [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] are family names. I’m warming up to the trendy [name_u]Paxton[/name_u], but what is your opinion of this name for a little boy/adult. Is it a name that you think will mature with him? It’s a new name for me so I’m wondering how it’s perceived by folks in general. Not that it matters, since his name is quite decided, but just looking for some feedback. Thank you!
Congratulations on your first grandson!
[name_u]Paxton[/name_u] definitely isn’t my favorite name. I can see how some people might really like it (the trendy X, the trendy -ton ending, etc). I know a little [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] and, even though I love the little guy, I just don’t care for his name. I can’t picture it aging well, but then again, I’ll see him grow up so maybe that will help me in that regard lol.
I don’t love most names that end in STON, [name_m]STEN[/name_m], XTEN, XTON. They’re super “trendy” where I live, and I just don’t love the sound. That being said, it’s a fine name, and there are enough of similar names out there that I don’t think it’s a bad name to give a kid. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not personally what I like I guess.
My niece is named [name_u]Paxton[/name_u], and it took me awhile to warm up to it but now she’s nothing but a [name_u]Paxton[/name_u]! Kids grow into their names I find
In my opinion it’s very “trendy” and I personally would not consider the name for a boy or a girl. That doesn’t mean it’s an unflattering name though, I just wouldn’t choose it! Congratulations on adding a grandson to your family.
