What are your opinions on [name]Pearl[/name] as a first name?
I love it! I think it’s a beautiful name.
I don’t love or hate the name. I don’t mind it either way. I will say the first thing that pops into my head when I hear the name [name]Pearl[/name] is [name]Will[/name] Ferrells daughter. When she was like 2-4, he did a youtube skit called [name]Pearl[/name] the landlord or something. Before that, I considered [name]Pearl[/name] an old lady name but after seeing a child named [name]Pearl[/name], I could see it for a kid.
I think I prefer it as a middle myself, but it’s perfectly acceptable as a first name. I’m just not a fan of one syllable names in the first spot, but if you don’t mind go for [name]Pearl[/name]. It’s beautiful.
I can’t associate it as a name for a person because I had a hamster named pearl, also I know a couple of people with cats named [name]Pearl[/name]… That said I do think it’s a pretty name, as pretty as the stone its called after.
I get the appeal, but I think it sounds weird. The “rl” consonant blend is really harsh and ugly to me, and I find P a kind of unappealing consonant in general.
I don’t love it, but I like it. I don’t like the “earl” part of the name. That is the main drawback for me. Otherwise, I like how short and to the point it is and I like how uncommon it is.
[name]Love[/name] it. Very classy name.
A lovely classic. There’s a little [name]Pearl[/name] at my son’s daycare and her name is not at all out of place.
I like [name]Pearl[/name] as a first name.
My feelings exactly. I used to be neutral about [name]Pearl[/name], but lately I’ve come to dislike it because of the sound.
I don’t have a very strong opinion either way, but generally I feel positively about it.
I don’t have a very strong opinion either way, but generally I feel more positively than negatively about it.
I like it! I love pearls, so I think that helps me like the name even though I don’t think it has the perfect sound in my opinion.
I love it! It’s my biggest name crush right now
[name]Love[/name] it. Its a beautiful name and sorely underused. I actually prefer it as a fn, it can feel like a bit of a filler in the middle. I’m also a big fan of a 1 syllable first name and a longer middle, eg [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Susannah[/name], [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Clementine[/name].
Not love, or hate, but probably like. The only bad association I have with it is Mr. Krabs daughter [name]Pearl[/name] (a whale) on Spongebob. But I wouldn’t worry about that. Lol. Other than that, I see it as a vintage name that deserves new life. Go for it!
I really like [name]Pearl[/name] a lot, both as a first and middle name.
It’s not the prettiest word name, but I don’t hate it. I think it could be cute with a nice middle name, preferably 3-syllables.
Recently read an Australian novel by [name]Karen[/name] Foxlee where one of the protagonists is named [name]Pearl[/name]. While the plot did not end up well for [name]Pearl[/name], it brought the name into the contemporary for me. I like it.
