I’ve been on this site name-searching for character and pen names both, but finally I’ve decided to make my own post in this forum.
I’ve been trying to think of a new pen name for myself… Something that is unique and tailored to my tastes. My likes and hobbies change constantly, though, so it’s a little difficult. Haha
My name is [name_f]Kayla[/name_f], but I would be just as fine with keeping my first name the same as I would be with changing it. So far I’m thinking either keeping it as [name_f]Kayla[/name_f] or changing it to [name_f]Keira[/name_f]. (I had a Japanese friend once, and he always called me [name_f]Keira[/name_f], as they don’t pronounce 'L’s in their language. Japan and Japanese names interest me quite a bit). I was also considering a Japanese surname, such as Daichi or Tatsuko. But, at the same time, I think it’d be cool to have a unique surname; sort of like [name_f]Rainbow[/name_f] Rowell, with a pen name that isn’t exactly a name someone would give to their child.
As for my interests, I like anime, Japanese culture, Korean culture, stars/astrology…
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? It would help a lot 
Hey! Saw your post and I just thought I could help out a bit, because I know how it feels to post something and have no replies for a long time.
Since you’re interested in astrology, something I’d suggest is maybe using a name like [name_f]Astra[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Nova[/name_f], [name_u]Vega[/name_u], or [name_f]Ascella[/name_f], or maybe something farther out like [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f], [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f], or maybe even [name_f]Electra[/name_f]. Possibly a planet name such as [name_f]Venus[/name_f], or maybe [name_u]Mars[/name_u] or [name_u]Mercury[/name_u] if you want something a little less feminine.
I would also suggest some of the zodiac signs, such as [name_m]Aries[/name_m], [name_f]Libra[/name_f], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], or something as wild as Pisces or [name_m]Scorpio[/name_m]. If your own zodiac sign is something you’d be comfortable with, maybe you could use that.
I’m also very interested in Japanese culture, and I like the idea of [name_f]Keira[/name_f]. I’d also suggest [name_m]Mori[/name_m], [name_u]Akira[/name_u], [name_f]Kiaria[/name_f], [name_u]Tora[/name_u], or [name_f]Taya[/name_f].
Sorry if these were a little too offbeat, but these are just some suggestions based off of your opinions. If I end up getting published, I’ll probably go with [name_m]Aries[/name_m] P. Dasilva, the “P” standing for [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], of course

I like the story behind [name_f]Keira[/name_f]. You should keep it.
As for last names, question is, would you like it to pass as an actual name? If so, a common Japanese or Korean family name is probably what you want. Or maybe there’s a specific person (writer, artist,…) you adore, and you can use their family name. If you’d prefer a funky, not-a-real-human name, artemisartistic had some ideas I like: [name_f]Keira[/name_f] [name_u]Mercury[/name_u], [name_f]Keira[/name_f] [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] (or [name_f]Kassiopeia[/name_f] for extra alliteration points). Or how about [name_f]Keira[/name_f] Kaleidoscope?
Well… I am Korean… know a whole lot about Japan… let’s see if I can help.
I would also advise you to keep [name_f]Keira[/name_f]. It’s a pretty name, and there’s story. For a middle, I what about some kind of star-related name? (referring to [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Electra[/name_f], [name_f]Alpha[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and all its variations, or the massive list of others.) Or, there are some that are readable and also changeable into Korean and Japanese. So far, the only one I know of is [name_f]Sora[/name_f], it’s 소” in Korean, means sky in Japanese, and also decipherable. Not too bad there, but do [name_f]Keira[/name_f] and [name_f]Sora[/name_f] get together? Not very sure.
For a surname, I have very little knowledge, but whatever flows with the first & middle combo would be best.
