I’m currently loving the combo [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope (pr: PEH-NEH-LO-PEH) and this name as a first.
What are cute nicknames (besides [name_u]Penny[/name_u])?
I am a spanish speaker so please no Pene (bad word)
I love this name so much. I know a girl my age named [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope nn [name_u]Pen[/name_u] and she is the sweetest!
I love [name_u]Pepa[/name_u]! I don’t mind Peppa Pig…It is a VERY common nickname for [name_f]Josefa[/name_f], [name_f]Josefina[/name_f], [name_f]Joselin[/name_f] and every girl name related to “[name_m]Jos[/name_m]é” (As you know, it’s famous nn is [name_m]Pepe[/name_m]). [name_u]Pepa[/name_u] or [name_f]Pepita[/name_f] seems so cute to me. “[name_u]Pepa[/name_u], have you done your homework?”, " I love you [name_f]Pepita[/name_f]"…cute!
Thank you all! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the combo [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope?
I love your nicknames for [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope! I don’t think you need more, but since you asked, I think you could get away with [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], or Opie too. But I like [name_u]Penny[/name_u]/[name_u]Pepa[/name_u]/[name_f]Pepita[/name_f] better. I am less sure of [name_f]Luna[/name_f] because I feel like it’s trendy, at least in the U.S. If it’s not in your area, or you’re not bothered by trends–go for it. The combo sounds pretty and dreamy.
Personally I like [name_f]Luna[/name_f] even more than [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope, so I’d use [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope (gorgeous combo!), but reversing to [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is also really nice.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you live in a Spanish-speaking country, or a region with lots of Spanish speakers? I think most English-speakers would default to [name_u]Pen[/name_u]-ell-o-pee (and [name_m]French[/name_m] speakers to pen-eh-lope), but I think the Spanish way is prettiest.
A word of caution with [name_u]Pepa[/name_u]—the kids show Peppa the Pig is super popular with the preschool crowd these days.
My favorite nickname for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. You could also do [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], or [name_f]Lola[/name_f] which is more of a stretch but works with the strong “lo” sound.
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_u]Pepa[/name_u] are probably the most “Spain” girl nicknames could get. Yes, [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] and [name_f]Josefa[/name_f]…But I would like [name_f]Lola[/name_f] for [name_f]Carlota[/name_f] (spanish [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]) and [name_u]Pepa[/name_u] for [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope!
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] isn’t trendy in Spain, it is the word for moon and also used rarely as a name. But…what would you do? I like the combo [name_f]Luna[/name_f] Pénelope like I’ve never loved a combo before, but [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope is so beautiful I would like to save it for another girl…do I name her [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope or save it?
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] has a huge sentimental tie for use, also I love “[name_f]Lu[/name_f]” as a nickname. I can totally see myself as [name_f]Luna[/name_f]'s mom.
This combo is so dreamy oh my!!! what should I do?
Thank you! Yes, it is a beautiful combo! I live in Spain. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope are both uncommon names. While Peppa Pig is also big here, it is a well-known nn for [name_f]Josefa[/name_f] and [name_f]Josefina[/name_f] ([name_f]Josephine[/name_f])
I agree with you that [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope is dreamy. It’s so sweet, and absolutely beautiful.
Although, I really think you love both names so much, you could also save one of them if youd rather do that!
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope “[name_f]Lu[/name_f] & [name_u]Pepa[/name_u]” make the prettiest, most adorable set of sisters!!
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Pen[/name_u]élope is a lovely combo. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is a longterm favourite of mine. There are many possible nicknames besides [name_u]Penny[/name_u] (and none of these are ‘a bit of a stretch’ - an odd concept to me): [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_m]Pip[/name_m], [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], [name_m]Pippin[/name_m],[name_f]Pippi[/name_f], [name_u]Pepa[/name_u], Pepy/[name_u]Peppy[/name_u], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_u]Nelly[/name_u], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_u]Pepper[/name_u], [name_u]Pen[/name_u], Lo, Po/Poe, Pel, Polly, Pelly.
So hard to answer your question - I tend to be in favour of holding a special favourite for another baby, but would you regret the decision if you didn’t have another girl? You could work on finding another name to go with [name_f]Luna[/name_f] that you loved, but hold [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] just in case it is the best option.
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Taliesin[/name_u]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Serenity[/name_f]
I think I realized that next times I could have boys, and in a way I’ll regret not giving [name_f]Luna[/name_f] that mn…As you said, there are so many names and I’m sure I’ll find something that sounds right if I have another girl. I will use this comobo because it feels right, and DH also likes it
thank you!
