I’m falling in love with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] lately and before I voice this to my partner I thought I would voice it here first…
Basically, we have chosen [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] [name_m]Draco[/name_m] as the name for our first son and we both agree 100% on this… for a long time we had [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] as our girls name but for various reasons we have both fallen out of love with it and are starting from the beginning again…
And then I fell back in love with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. However! Part of me feels like this just doesn’t sit right with [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]… so I would love some thoughts… how do/would you feel about a [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] sibset?
Nickname would most likely be [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Nella[/name_f]. Middle name suggestions welcome also!
Thank you!
I love the name [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]! And [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] is my favourite nickname for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] too. I do agree that [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] don’t quite match. [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] feels very trendy to me, whereas I see [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] more as a classic name.
The only middle name I can think of for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].
I would class [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] as a very trendy name, whereas [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], although possibly trendy in terms of popularity, it has a more classic and mature feel about it. I can imagine a [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] of any age, while [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] suits a baby or child - I cannot picture it on a grown man.
I think [name_m]Draco[/name_m] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] are a better match so would [name_m]Draco[/name_m] [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] work for you?
To me, both [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] are somewhat modern classics that are currently trendy, so they go together.
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] is adorable, I love it for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].

[name_m]How[/name_m] do/would you feel about a [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] sibset?
They’re fine together. It somehow feels like a very American sibset with the boy’s name being overly masculine and strong and the girl’s name being very feminine.
However, I do have [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] on my own list so I already like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] with certain names which makes it sound not as right with certain others.
I actually don’t think of [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] as being very trendy. I’ve heard the name for years, so I don’t see it increasing in popularity, although my fiance’s brother and wife just welcomed a [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] in [name_u]November[/name_u]. I think [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] go quite well together. I find them to both be popular, but in a good way–more like well received than incredibly overused.
Together, I think [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] sound like a very good match. They can be preppy, bookish, sporty, etc. The names translate well together.
[name_u]Hunter[/name_u] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] fit well together imo. They both feel classic yet on the trendy scale with the popularity, but I guess my answer is affected by the Disicks who have a [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], and who are as trendy as you can get.
