its pretty much dated here in Greece -kind of ironic if you think about it- but I dont think its an ugly name

I think [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and nickname [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] are great. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] seems like a versatile name, with lots of short forms, but stylish and usable in its full form.
I personally feel neutral about [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. I adore [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. It took me awhile to really adore [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] but I now feel a connection to the name. I personally would just use [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. But I am also not a nicknamer.
I absolutely [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and I love [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. It would be on my list but hubby says no
