So my 16 month old is super enthusiastic about life, energetic and certainly extroverted. In five weeks we’re having another girl and she is still without a name! We like the familiar classics, but a little bit lower on the radar, and with solid meanings. [name_u]Penny[/name_u] was a family name and [name_u]Reese[/name_u] was just a sweet middle name that fit. Some of my faves at the moment I keep coming back to include:
[name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] or [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Rita[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
**[name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is looking pretty good right now
Any additional suggestions or insight is much appreciated! Thank you
I like [name_f]Rita[/name_f] the most with [name_u]Penny[/name_u] as they are both diminutives (of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] respectively) and they feel complimentary. [name_f]Adele[/name_f] works in this sense too as it is a diminutive of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. I like your other names too but they don’t sound so good with [name_u]Penny[/name_u]. From your list I like
[name_f]Rita[/name_f] Briget and [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]… [name_m]Both[/name_m] those middles have quite a different feel to [name_u]Reese[/name_u] though… Which is more modern and unisex.
I’m a big fan of the name [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]. You don’t hear it that often and the one [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] I know is super adorable! Another name you never hear but I thought of it when I heard [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], is the name [name_f]Bryna[/name_f], which I also find just as cute.
[name_f]Adele[/name_f] is a very pretty name as well.
You really can’t go wrong with your name choices. You picked very nice names.
Congratulations and welcome to Nameberry! Oh my goodness, [name_u]Penny[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] is so precious! What a great name! I am in love with it. Okay, so, from your list, I feel like [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] or [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] go best with it. I get similar vibes from [name_u]Penny[/name_u] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. So vintage and storybook-like! Some other ideas that seem to fit your style and description:
I like all of your names in varying degrees so I’ll just rate them by how they “fit” with [name_u]Penny[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] for a sister.
1 [name_f]Rita[/name_f] - a nickname as a full name like [name_u]Penny[/name_u]. Have you considered [name_f]Anita[/name_f]?
2 [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] - has a vintage charm
3 [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] - [name_u]Penny[/name_u] and [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] would be lovely together
4 [name_f]Adele[/name_f] - lovely name but one of the highest rising names in popularity due to the singer
5 [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] - [name_f]Bea[/name_f] or [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] would be cute. I hesitate to use a longer name with the diminuitive [name_u]Penny[/name_u].
I like all of you names but I think [name_f]Rita[/name_f] goes the best. Second best is [name_f]Bridgit[/name_f] (a name that makes you smile when you say it) and third would be [name_f]Adele[/name_f].
[name_u]Penny[/name_u] is a favorite of mine!!! I really like [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] best personally.
My Suggestions:
[name_f]Emmaline[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Audra[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_u]Marion[/name_u]
[name_f]Junia[/name_f]
[name_f]Geneva[/name_f]
[name_f]Eugenie[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
Wow, you all have given wonderful insight and food for thought! I still, even after two more weeks since posting this, feel unsure about this baby girl who is coming so soon. Maybe when I see her I’ll know. I find myself returning to [name_f]Rita[/name_f] and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] as first name options. Any suggestions for middle names, keeping in mind her sister is [name_u]Penny[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] and our last name is a simple, two-syllable “----man.” What about [name_f]Rita[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Rita[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]? [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] has me at a loss. My mother’s maiden name was [name_f]Moon[/name_f] but I can’t see that working with these. Thank you for all your help, [name_f]Lynsey[/name_f].
