Peony?

Not sure if you’re still interested in opinions on this but I was thinking that instead of using it as a name, I think it would be so lovely to use as your daughter’s flower, like incorporating it in her nursery design (I’m thinking large oversized, stylized peony flowers) and using it on her birth announcement and other things when she’s little. I bet if you tell her how special those flowers were to your family and how they remind you of both your grammy and her (your child), then she will grow up loving the flower as well and it’ll remain special to her too.
These are kind of like what I had in mind…

I live floral and nature names but this one is just too much in my opinion.

I think the “pee” right at the beginning of the name make it unuseable. Pee-oh-nee becomes Pee-on-me when it comes to teasing in middle school.

I know a couple of Peonys, both in their 30s.

It’s really pretty.

All I hear is “pee on me”. I don’t think it would be fair to give a name with a such association to a child. I don’t think it grows very well either, but then again, I have never met anyone with this name. I just couldn’t imagine a grown up [name_f]Peony[/name_f].

Maybe you could do [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] nn [name_f]Peony[/name_f]? I love [name_f]Peony[/name_f] (my mom has a lot of peonies around, too!), and it rhymes with [name_f]Leonie[/name_f], and it’s floral, but I think it might be a bit over the top. I’m massively in love with the combo [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Peony[/name_f], though!

its just not the right sound for calling a kid all the time, it doesnt roll off the tongue

a good nickname for it would be Sweet Pea, but that is amplifying the syllable you dont like - at least in a positive way

Those are good ideas, thank you! I’m not expecting or anything yet - but I like getting ideas. I also like the thought of nicknaming her [name_f]Peony[/name_f], regardless of her name, as a nickname that just my future husband and I would call her (my parents both gave my sister and I ones like that).

Thank you
