Percy?

What do you think of the name [name]Percy[/name] for a boy? The intentions of my use of the name would of course be attributed to the great poet [name]Percy[/name] Bysshe [name]Shelley[/name]! So what are your thoughts? Would a “full” name like [name]Perseus[/name] be better with the nickname of [name]Percy[/name]?

The first thing I think of is the [name]Percy[/name] [name]Jackson[/name] series. My little cousin loves it (and I secretly do too).
I think it is a great handsome name! Makes me think of the character; brave, intelligent, kind and witty.
[name]Perseus[/name], has very strong Greek mythology ties (which can be seen as good or bad). Another way to get [name]Percy[/name] is [name]Percival[/name] but I’m not too fond of that. I like [name]Perseus[/name] nn [name]Percy[/name] much better!

Thanks for your comments! I do love [name]Perseus[/name] and the mythological ties so I think that is the best way to get to [name]Percy[/name] because [name]Perseus[/name] is a strong name! I have heard [name]Percival[/name] but I do not find it appealing.

I can’t help but think of bad names that kids might call him…like a specific vulgar one. But that’s just my opinion

I do love [name]Percival[/name], but just can’t get behind [name]Percy[/name]. It’s just not a pleasing sound for me.

As you can see in the signature, I [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Percy[/name]. But, for me, I have the opposite opinion of you: I love [name]Percival[/name] and don’t find [name]Perseus[/name] is very appealing.

I would love to meet a guy called [name]Percy[/name]. It’s definitely usable.

I love [name]Percy[/name]! However I do prefer as a nickname for [name]Perseus[/name] or [name]Percival[/name].

I prefer [name]Percy[/name] as a nn.
Longer options: [name]Perseus[/name], [name]Percival[/name], Perseval, [name]Peredur[/name] (Welsh Mythology), or [name]Parsifal[/name] ([name]German[/name])
