I thought I was set on [name]Peregrine[/name], but [name]Crispin[/name] is creeping up on me…what do you berries think?
i may be biased because iknow a [name]Peregrine[/name], but i think you should stick with it. [name]Peregrine[/name] is a lovely naturey name that can be worn well with or without the nickname. [name]Crispin[/name] reminds me of a cereal or a crispy snack… and i think playground kids will reconize that too
[name]Both[/name] are sweetly British and lovely!
I don’t like the word “crisp” is [name]Crispin[/name]. My pet rabbit is named [name]Pip[/name], short for [name]Philip[/name]. [name]Peregrine[/name]/[name]Pip[/name] is a nice nod to the Hobbit. However, there was a female [name]Peregrine[/name] as a contestant on a reality show a few years ago. I don’t know how popular the show really was, so maybe no one else would even make that connection, but since then the name sounds feminine to me. I think it’s actually the -rine ending. It’s reminiscent of [name]Catherine[/name].
[name]Peregrine[/name], for sure, or [name]Philip[/name].
I don’t understand why like the name [name]Crispin[/name] so much, honestly, all I hear is “crisp/crispy”. Sorry.
Though I like [name]Crispin[/name] I prefer [name]Peregrine[/name], so handsome and distinctive!
I’ll be the odd man out and say I prefer [name]Crispin[/name], I think the name is handsome and easy for kids to say and understand. I’ve always had troubles with [name]Peregrine[/name], there’s just something about it that makes me feel like it’s trying to hard, though in my mind I feel like it’s a name I should like… I also think [name]Phillip[/name] is rather charming
I personally prefer [name]Crispin[/name], but I can definitely appreciate both options. [name]Crispin[/name] is closer to a name I could actually see myself using, whereas [name]Peregrine[/name] feels like a bit too much to me. That being said, I’d be overjoyed if I met a kid named [name]Peregrine[/name].
I would prefer just [name]Philip[/name] but if it’s not an option, I vote [name]Crispin[/name], don’t really like [name]Peregrine[/name].
I also heard [name]Pip[/name] as a nickname for [name]Joseph[/name] and [name]Petr[/name]/[name]Peter[/name], what do you think of these?
[name]Peregrine[/name] is strong, but [name]Crispin[/name] seems too bullyable.
I really like [name]Crispin[/name] nickname [name]Pip[/name]. It feels like a natural nickname to it, while [name]Peregrine[/name] feels forced.
Thanks for all of the feedback - I’ve never heard of a female [name]Peregrine[/name]!
Unfortunately I don’t like [name]Philip[/name] or [name]Peter[/name]. [name]Joseph[/name] is lovely, though I’m not sure I can see myself using it as a first name. I do realise that [name]Peregrine[/name] is a bit [name]OTT[/name] and the nickname [name]Pip[/name] isn’t natural, but I do love it quite a bit…
Edited for privacy.
You could just use [name]Pip[/name] as a first name! Use what you love! [name]Piper[/name] could also be used as a boys name, but I understand if you wouldn’t want to use it due to the popularity for little ladies
If I had to pick a longer name, my vote would be for [name]Crispin[/name].
I prefer [name]Crispin[/name] over [name]Peregrine[/name].
[name]Peregrine[/name] nn [name]Pip[/name] makes more sense to me than [name]Crispin[/name] nn [name]Pip[/name].
My vote is definitely for [name]Peregrine[/name]. I love [name]Pippin[/name] from LOTR!
Like pp’s have said, I also cannot get past the crisp part of [name]Crispin[/name].
I like [name]Crispin[/name] better. I like [name]Caspian[/name] the best. “[name]Pip[/name]” would be a little more forced but I think it would still work.
I think either works fine!
Also, you can tag [name]Pip[/name] to any name, a friend of mine from [name]England[/name] has a [name]Josh[/name] nn [name]Pip[/name]
I know a [name]Crispin[/name] who goes exclusively by [name]Cris[/name]. I think you’d have a hard time avoiding the more familiar nickname [name]Cris[/name]. And I prefer [name]Peregrine[/name] anyway!
I’ll start by saying I just love the nickname [name]Pip[/name]. I don’t care much for either [name]Peregrine[/name] or [name]Crispin[/name], but I do prefer [name]Peregrine[/name] for the LotR connection, plus I think that [name]Cris[/name] would be a more natural nn for [name]Crispin[/name], so my vote goes for [name]Peregrine[/name]
