Perfect sister for Lydia?

Hypothetically-speaking, what would you name [name]Lydia[/name]'s sister?

Thanks for the fun, Nameberry-ites!

[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]

are the first ones that came to mind.

[name]Celia[/name] immediately came to mind. Is it too matchy with the “ia” ending though?

[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Hannah[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Amy[/name]
[name]Rachael[/name]

[name]Do[/name] “ia” and “a” endings paired together work?

Ex. [name]Lydia[/name] and and [name]Alexandra[/name].

Are sib-set “a” endings and sib-set “ia” endings too matchy?

Ex. [name]Alexandra[/name] and [name]Calista[/name]

Ex. [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Celia[/name]

Thoughts on sib-set names starting with the same letter - too matchy?

Ex. [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Laurel[/name]

[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Delphi[/name]
[name]Ruth[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Florence[/name]

[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Elspeth[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Julia[/name]

[name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name]

I thought [name]Charlotte[/name] right away. Also liked pp’s suggestion of [name]Abigail[/name].

[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name]

I like these names! I’m NOT expecting - rather, I always like to think about names for future children. Up until now, girls were always [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], but now I’m starting to think that [name]Charlotte[/name] sounds a little harsh and abrupt when said aloud. Am I losing it? It’s really a shame, because [name]Charlotte[/name] has been one of my favorites for a very long time, since I was about 8…

Another pairing I had thought of was [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]. However, I’m not in love with [name]Catherine[/name]. Maybe [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]?

Here are the names I REALLY liked from your comments:

[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]

I love [name]Lydia[/name]! I think [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name], and [name]Juliet[/name] are absolutely perfect as sisters.

[name]Lemon[/name], we have similar taste in names, and I feel that [name]Charlotte[/name] may look harsh, but can sound very soft, since the Ch is pronounced like Sh. I also love love love [name]Caroline[/name].

[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Florence[/name] (mn?)
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Flavia[/name] (if the -ia endings are not too matchy)
[name]Isobel[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] (mn?)
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Seraphine[/name]
[name]Eulalie[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Celeste[/name] (mn?)
[name]Mirabel[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name]/[name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Anneliese[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]

I also love [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] together!

Yeah, I know it is said with a SH. I just think maybe it sounds more dignified when a British person says it! Maybe it doesn’t compare in elegance to [name]Lydia[/name]. Maybe [name]Caroline[/name] is better?

I do just love [name]Charlotte[/name], though - it was my absolute favorite doll’s name when I was 8…

[name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Anneliese[/name] are some I really like, too!

My immediate thought was [name]Clara[/name]. I think [name]Charlotte[/name] works really well though. She doesn’t feel at all harsh to my ear. I also like [name]Virginia[/name] with [name]Lydia[/name]. They both feel feminine (but not frilly), calm, and intelligent.

[name]Clara[/name] - that’s beautiful! Thank you! I never would have thought of it. It reminds me of the Nutcracker and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside…

What would you choose as [name]Clara[/name] or [name]Lydia[/name]'s middle names?

Off the top of my head…

[name]Clara[/name] [name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Jane[/name]

[name]Clara[/name] [name]Frances[/name] is cute, as is [name]Clara[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. Oh! [name]Clara[/name] also makes me think of [name]Clara[/name] [name]Barton[/name], who was literally my idol when I was small (about six or seven). [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Jane[/name] are pretty, too!

So - I just looked up [name]Clara[/name] [name]Barton[/name], and her name wasn’t [name]Clara[/name]. It was [name]Clarissa[/name] “[name]Clara[/name]” Harlowe [name]Barton[/name]. I’m semi-crushed. But not that much, because I still adore her…

I like [name]Clara[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]…[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]…[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Hazel[/name]…
