Until she can decide on her own she would mainly be called [name]Kathryn[/name]/[name]Catherine[/name]. With the occasional at home nick-name of [name]Kate[/name] or [name]Katie[/name].
No middle name chosen yet. We are toying with [name]Susannah[/name], [name]Juliana[/name], [name]Leone[/name] or [name]Noelle[/name], but still looking at other family names.
I live the double sounding initials (doss that make sense?) so [name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Kathryn[/name] Cottum. I think [name]Kathryn[/name] makes it less matchy so you don’t have the two C’s, although I much prefer the [name]Catherine[/name] spelling. I love [name]Kathryn[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]!
I don’t think it’s a big deal. She could use the nickname CC, too, if you went with the spelling [name]Catherine[/name]. I do like alliterative names more if they have the same sound but begin with a different letter, so I think [name]Kathryn[/name] Cottum looks better on paper, but I prefer the spelling [name]Catherine[/name].
I love [name]Catherine[/name], nn Catiche (it’s an actual name–a French variant of [name]Catherine[/name]). I’m not crazy about the alliteration w/your last name. Have you considered using [name]Catherine[/name] as a middle name to avoid the clunky double 'c/k sound?
[name]Katherine[/name], [name]Katharine[/name], or [name]Catherine[/name] are my preferred spellings over [name]Kathryn[/name]. I think it works with your last name. [name]Kate[/name] Cottum is a little abrupt, but not bad - [name]Katie[/name] works slightly better (though I love [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Cate[/name]!).
[name]Don[/name]'t love the flow of [name]Noelle[/name] or [name]Leone[/name] with [name]Catherine[/name]. [name]Love[/name] [name]Susannah[/name], [name]Juliana[/name], or just [name]Julia[/name]!
I love the alliteration and prefer the [name]Catherine[/name] spelling.
I had a c/k alliteration name before I got married…my mother told me she had agonized about it at first but figured it worked out ok for [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Kennedy[/name].
I like it. I think it’s an example of good alliteration, not overly silly with classic [name]Catherine[/name]. I like the [name]Catherine[/name] spelling much much more than the K.
