[name]Demetria[/name]
[name]Magdalena[/name]
[name]Sylvana[/name]
[name]Cybele[/name]
[name]Isolde[/name] and
[name]Helena[/name]

The rest aren’t really my style, though Leotine is ok.

~[name]Jasmine[/name]

[name]Leontine[/name]! [name]Don[/name]'t forget the n!

I do love this name, I just feel it might be easier in the middle since most people haven’t heard of it as a name.

I know a sibset of a [name]Guinevere[/name] and an [name]Eowyn[/name], so those fit together naturally for me, but [name]Eowyn[/name]'s another name I’m not sure about up front.

I’d rank this list as such:

[name]LOVE[/name]:
[name]Magdalena[/name]
[name]Lavinia[/name]
[name]Isolde[/name]

Works fine, but I don’t love them:
[name]Jocelyn[/name]
[name]Demetria[/name]
[name]Silvana[/name]/ [name]Silvania[/name] (I’d just rather see [name]Silvia[/name] or [name]Silviane[/name])
[name]Helena[/name]

[name]LOVE[/name], but not sure they work:
[name]Leontine[/name]
[name]Eowyn[/name]
[name]Cybele[/name]

Thanks mei-mei! Grr at myself for forgetting the N!

Also thanks [name]Jasmine[/name]!

I appreciate the feedback. Keep it coming!

I like [name]Isolde[/name], [name]Leontine[/name], [name]Jocelyn[/name] and [name]Helena[/name], in this order.

I love your childrens name!

My name is [name]Isolde[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]. So guess what name I voted on?

The pronunciation I get to hear i s everything from Ysult, Ih-sohl-deh to Ih-sold. But it doesn’t matter because I love my name.
Although it is more connected to [name]Guinevere[/name] then the other names.

Good luck with the names

My favorites are [name]Leontine[/name], [name]Magdalena[/name], and [name]Cybele[/name]. I think all three fit with [name]Persephone[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], and [name]Guinevere[/name]. I think all six could be a fabulous sibset :). I also like [name]Isolde[/name] & think it fits well.

OK then, add [name]Leontine[/name] to the [name]LOVE[/name] list!!

[name]Sylvana[/name] is my favorite

[name]Demetria[/name] ~ It’s not bad, but I prefer the male “[name]Dimitri[/name]”, which sounds so similar. Also, it brings to mind the very male [name]Demetrius[/name].
[name]Isolde[/name] ~ [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name]. I don’t know that I would ever be brave enough to use it, but I hope I would be. It comes from a beautiful myth (like [name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Guinevere[/name]–why, it’s even in the same mythos as [name]Guinevere[/name]!) and is lovely sounding. So beautiful.
[name]Lavinia[/name] ~ I like it a lot, but not as much as [name]Isolde[/name].
[name]Leontine[/name] ~ A bit too masculine, like [name]Leon[/name].
[name]Cybele[/name] ~ Sounds too much like [name]Sibley[/name], and I feel like it would constantly be mispronounced as [name]Sybil[/name].
[name]Magdalena[/name] ~ I feel like it would be shortened to [name]Maggie[/name] all the time.
[name]Sylvana[/name]/[name]Sylvania[/name] (say which you prefer please) ~ Too much like Transylvania, Pensylvania, etc.
[name]Eowyn[/name] ~ I’m not sure about the LOTR reference? It’s mythological, but with movies being fairly recent and the books relatively so in terms of history, it doesn’t have the richness of [name]Isolde[/name].
[name]Jocelyn[/name] ~ [name]Love[/name] it.
[name]Helena[/name] ~ [name]Love[/name] it, and it stays within the mythological theme. Makes me think of “[name]Helen[/name] of [name]Troy[/name]”.

I like these names…

1 [name]Helena[/name] - a “natural” and more mainstream pairing with [name]Amelia[/name]

2 [name]Magdalena[/name] - works with [name]Amelia[/name] best

3 [name]Isolde[/name] - I think this goes well with [name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Guinevere[/name] but it would still leave out [name]Amelia[/name] as the only non-mythological name in your sibset.

4 [name]Leontine[/name] - Would you be pronouncing this name the French way (lay-ON-teen)? If you were going to pronounce it like the boys name [name]Leon[/name] (lee-on) then I would find it a bit matchy with the ending of [name]Amelia[/name] ([name]Lia[/name] and [name]Leon[/name]).

Names Like [name]Amelia[/name]: [name]Louisa[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Susanna[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name]/[name]Carlotta[/name], [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Lucy[/name]/[name]Lucinda[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Madeleine[/name], [name]Tabitha[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Bridget[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name]/[name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Philippa[/name], [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Jemima[/name], [name]Felicity[/name], [name]Christabel[/name], [name]Isadora[/name], [name]Corinna[/name], [name]Celeste[/name], [name]Estella[/name]/[name]Estelle[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Daniela[/name], [name]Serena[/name], [name]Vanessa[/name], [name]Miranda[/name], [name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Katharina[/name], [name]Francesca[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name]/[name]Leonora[/name], [name]Clarissa[/name], [name]Eudora[/name], [name]Florence[/name], [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Rosamund[/name], [name]Roxanna[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Theodora[/name]/[name]Theodosia[/name], [name]Frederica[/name], [name]Diana[/name], [name]Juliana[/name], [name]Sabrina[/name], [name]Justina[/name], [name]Marcella[/name], [name]Mattea[/name], [name]Tatiana[/name], [name]Veronica[/name], [name]Mirabel[/name], [name]Regina[/name], [name]Valentina[/name], [name]Desdemona[/name], [name]Larissa[/name], [name]Renata[/name], [name]Candida[/name], [name]Perdita[/name], [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Cosima[/name], [name]Decima[/name], [name]Delilah[/name], [name]Davina[/name], [name]Dorothea[/name], [name]Evelina[/name], [name]Gabriella[/name], Raphaella

Wow [name]Mischa[/name]! I like the French pronunciation of [name]Leontine[/name] ^^ You mentioned [name]Zephyrine[/name]… my combo is [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Zephyrine[/name] [name]Saga[/name] ^^ You’ve actually mentioned a ton that I already love or have considered!

I like these from the ones you suggested:

[name]Francesca[/name] – [name]ADORE[/name] this, but husband thinks it’s too ethnic (we’re not Italian so he doesn’t want to use it)
[name]Coraline[/name] – Considered this as a middle name and it’s still in consideration to replace a middle name on the list
[name]Eirene[/name] – I [name]LOVE[/name] this too but I’m afraid most people will say [name]Irene[/name] instead of ee-reh-nee which is how it’s actually said
[name]Eluned[/name] – considered this too
Endellion – O goodness I completely forgot how much I loved this one!
Igraine – This has the same issue as [name]Morgana[/name] to me. Is it too [name]King[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] with [name]Guinevere[/name]? I love it though!
[name]Lumina[/name] – [name]Love[/name] the sounds and nn Lumi
[name]Thalassa[/name] – Greek spirit of the sea, lovely

Thanks so much!

Thanks everyone else for the votes too. A note on [name]Sylvana[/name] to the person who said it was like Pensylvania. i’m saying it sil-vah-nah not sil-vay-nah. My husband says he also like [name]Sylviana[/name] – sil-vee-ah-nah. Thoughts?

[name]Magdalena[/name] is my favourite. I think it fits in well with [name]Persephone[/name], [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Guinevere[/name], because it has four syllables and is more of a unique name. But I feel like it’s not too weird either, which is important. And it also gives you lots of nn potential: [name]Maggie[/name], [name]Lena[/name], [name]Dalia[/name]…

[name]Isolde[/name] and [name]Sylvana[/name] for me. [name]Love[/name] both, the others don’t really appeal except [name]Demetria[/name], but not with [name]Persephone[/name].

I’ve been thinking about that today too Malk. [name]Demetria[/name] might be a little much with [name]Persephone[/name] as [name]Demeter[/name] was [name]Persephone[/name]'s mother. i’ll probably be taking that one off or moving it to the middle name list.

Thanks again ladies! Keep voting

Well trolls are back so i’m bumping my thread. Anybody else want to comment?

I love [name]Eowyn[/name] it sounds feminine but strong and what kind of a girl wouldn’t want to be named after a fictional noblewoman who killed the Witch king.

I agree snow_white, and it’s not such an obvious name like Galadriel or something

I voted [name]Helena[/name] (He-lay-na), [name]Sylvana[/name] (sil-vah-nah), and [name]Magdalena[/name].

[name]Sylviana[/name] was a movie which I haven’t seen, so it’s a movie title for me. It’s still a great name though.

Can I ask you what religion if any you are? Because in your previous list you had [name]Morgana[/name], she’s quite the [name]Neo[/name] [name]Pagan[/name] symbol. [name]Guinevere[/name] herself was [name]Christian[/name] if I recall correctly. So in my mind [name]Guinevere[/name] is a bit more secular.

[name]Magdalena[/name] obviously has a very [name]Christian[/name] feel to her because of [name]Mary[/name] [name]Magdalene[/name]. Of course, [name]Jesus[/name] wasn’t [name]Christian[/name] and adding her to your list of potential girls makes doesn’t make me think of an obvious [name]Christian[/name] family. It’s still something to consider.

[name]Eowyn[/name] is a nice name and a great character but I’m worried the name is too tied to the character. With this sibling set it doesn’t feel too LotR, but it might feel silly to some.

[name]Jocelyn[/name] feels downright plain.

I like [name]Isolde[/name], but the she’s going to be going around correcting the spelling and pronunciation of her name when her sisters won’t have that problem. The same goes for [name]Cybele[/name].

When I see [name]Demetria[/name], I keep seeing dementia for some strange reason.

Thanks for your opinions [name]Betty[/name]. [name]Helena[/name] is pronounced hel-en-ah in Greek and that’s the way I’m saying.

I was completely unaware that [name]Morgana[/name] was a neo pagan symbol. I know that [name]Morrigan[/name], the Triple [name]Goddess[/name], is a symbol used in a lot of different [name]Neo[/name] [name]Pagan[/name] religions like Wicca. Maybe you’re confusing the two?

I’m a Hellenistic [name]Pagan[/name], I worship the Greek Gods (I’ve seen tons of people on her say “Nobody does that anymore” but there are tons of us in the world) and I pick names with [name]Christian[/name] meanings because I don’t particularly care. I hope I’m not about to offend people, but the stories in the bible showed up in the Greek, Norse, etc stories long before [name]Jesus[/name] was every supposedly born and the bible written, so to me, names with [name]Christian[/name] meanings or connotations, don’t mean anything and I interpret them as belonging to my own God/[name]Goddess[/name].

I really do hope I don’t offend anyone with that, but it was asked and I’m entitled to my opinion (especially backed up with fact)

I understand what you’re saying about [name]Eowyn[/name] being a bit out of place and [name]Isolde[/name] and [name]Cybele[/name] having to spell, and pronounce all their lives. [name]Jocelyn[/name] does feel a tad plainer than the others and [name]Demetria[/name] is off the list at this point.

Thanks again.
