[name_f]Posy[/name_f]! I’m not a fan of [name_u]Percy[/name_u] on a girl, but I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Posy[/name_f]. I used to prefer [name_f]Posey[/name_f] to [name_f]Posy[/name_f], but these days I like [name_f]Posy[/name_f] better. I think it’s super cute.
[name_u]Percy[/name_u] is the most intuitive, but it sound’s pretty masculine to me, and I don’t care for it at all.
[name_f]Posey[/name_f]/[name_f]Posy[/name_f] is much sweeter and the one I prefer. It’s the one I would go for of these two!
Personally, I love [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] to bits, but sadly feel like most nicknames sort of diminish her a little? It’s such a strong, powerful, history-laden name I haven’t been able to find a single nickname-option that doesn’t take away from those qualities, which doesn’t work for me as those qualities are my reason for loving the name.
I’ve been thinking along the lines of [name_f]Pari[/name_f] or [name_u]Peri[/name_u] which mean ‘fairy’, but struggle some with how similar to [name_u]Perry[/name_u] those would sound…
I voted [name_f]Posey[/name_f] but Sephy works too
Between [name_u]Percy[/name_u] and [name_f]Posy[/name_f], I prefer [name_f]Posy[/name_f], but my favorite nn for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]!
I like [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] on its own; giving it a nickname dilutes the beauty of the name. To answer your question though, I picked neither because I feel like [name_f]Posy[/name_f] is too far of a stretch, and I’m just not a fan of [name_u]Percy[/name_u]. Seph or Sephy like a PP suggested are lovely choices that make sense, imo.
My second cousin is named [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and goes by Sephy. I personally like the unexpected [name_u]Percy[/name_u].
[name_f]Posy[/name_f]! (I like this spelling better, but [name_f]Posey[/name_f] is nice too.) It’s sweet and fun, spunky and lively. [name_u]Percy[/name_u] feels too much like a boy’s name to me. [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] would be a lovely nickname for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] too.
I’ve also heard [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], but that sounds more like a pet name in the vein of sweetie or princess.
With a name this long she’s likely to get a nickname at some point, but I do agree with the PP that none of them capture the strength, regalness and historical weight of [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]. They all feel a lot more cute and a lot less Greek goddess to me.
The only nickname I’ve heard for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] before is [name_u]Percy[/name_u] (she spelled it Persey), but I think [name_f]Posy[/name_f] (or [name_f]Posey[/name_f], but I think I prefer the floral spelling) works too, and it’s certainly more feminine than [name_u]Percy[/name_u]! I love the name [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and find it to be both strong and feminine, so both nicknames are equally appropriate! For me, the nickname I used would probably depend on the girl’s personality and which seemed to suit her more.
I also like others’ suggestions of Sephy and [name_u]Pepper[/name_u], although [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] is one I just can’t seem to like.
[name_f]Posey[/name_f] by a mile!! We have [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] on our list, and the NN will be [name_f]Posey[/name_f]. I can’t deal with [name_u]Percy[/name_u]. It sounds so whiny and annoying.
Sephy is really cute!
My personal fave is [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], but out of the two you list i prefer [name_u]Percy[/name_u].
I prefer [name_u]Percy[/name_u]. It’s a nickname, I don’t really care how masculine it sounds and think it’d work really neatly.
Out of the two: Definitely [name_f]Posey[/name_f]. [name_f]Posy[/name_f] looks like the group of girls (poss-ee)
I love the nn [name_u]Penny[/name_u] for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] in full, as well as Sephy or Ephy. [name_f]Posey[/name_f] would probably be my favourite out of the choices, but I think the nn would depend on [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]'s personality.
