Persephone Wildflower Louise - honoring my dad?

Hey Berries!
My top contender girl name is [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Wildflower [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. Unfortunately it doesn’t honor my dad in any way and it’s important to me that it does. Wildflower and [name_f]Louise[/name_f] honor my mom so I feel bad that he’s not honored at all in any of my names. It’s just so hard to find honor names that I like.

My dads name is [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Ford[/name_m]. His birth month is not useable and I’m not really a fan of the birthstone either. My name is [name_f]Emma[/name_f] so I can’t use that or any variant at all. (see my problem lol)

Is there a way I can come with a way to honor him in this name? I’m willing to give up Wildflower but not [name_f]Louise[/name_f] ([name_f]Louise[/name_f] is a MUST when naming a daughter in my fam).

Thank you so much for helping me!

(Note: not expecting, just collecting)

There’s still a few things you could do.

  1. Use the name or a really similar name. I’m not sure what you mean by a variant of [name_f]Emma[/name_f], if you mean a direct version of [name_f]Emma[/name_f] or just something that sounds too similar, so I’m throwing in a couple that might not work for you.

[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_m]Ford[/name_m] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]

  1. [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] means “truth” and so do a great list of girl’s names.

[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_u]True[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Viera[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Aletha[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Alethea[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Satyana[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]

“[name_m]Ford[/name_m]” refers to a river crossing, so maybe [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]?

  1. His initials are E.F., maybe the nickname [name_f]Effie[/name_f] could be a subtle nod? A [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Wildflower [name_f]Louise[/name_f] could easily go by [name_f]Effie[/name_f].

  2. You could give her a name inspired by him. An experience or special place that you and he share or something he’s really interested in.

[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Etta[/name_f] came to mind ([name_f]Em[/name_f]ett)

Or maybe another name ending in ‘et’

[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]/[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]/[name_f]Violette[/name_f]/[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]

[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Ford[/name_m]

Some other ideas
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Elora[/name_f]/[name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Eudora[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]/[name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Merit/[name_u]Merritt[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]/[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_u]Merritt[/name_u]

I like pp’s suggestions of [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] and [name_u]River[/name_u]!

This might be too much of a stretch but I think [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f] would be amazing. Bonus points if your dad was born in [name_f]February[/name_f].

@galilei+katerina
By variant of [name_f]Emma[/name_f] I meant like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], etc bc I don’t want it to seem like I’m honoring myself and not him. I love [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] tho. Does [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] flow?
I really like [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Alethea[/name_f], and [name_f]Satyana[/name_f] and I adore [name_u]River[/name_u] as well!

@greyblue
I love the idea of using a name that ends in et. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] are great!
I also love [name_u]Ember[/name_u]. [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u] is amazing!

@suzannah
I adore the name [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f] and is would definitely be the one but unfortunately he wasn’t born in [name_f]February[/name_f] :frowning:

Thank you all so much for your suggestions!

I haven’t got any suggestions, but just wanted to say that [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Wildflower [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is absolutely stunning! I especially love the [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Wildflower part, it’s so unique and charming and bohemian, and [name_f]Louise[/name_f] grounds the whole name.

[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Wildflower [name_f]Louise[/name_f] sounds magical! My first thought was [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Forsythia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f].
What’s your father’s favorite song, book, holiday, color, animal, place…? I think you may find some good options based on that. What about his zodiac sign?

Other ideas:
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_m]Forest[/name_m] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_u]Fortune[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Garnet[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]

[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Irma[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Honor[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]

@bonfireazalea
Thank you so much! :slight_smile:

@estrela
His favorite book is a [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars book so that wouldn’t work lol but I love your other options and will definitely be looking into them. Also his zodiac sign does work pretty well and I think i might be using that.
I love your suggestions of [name_m]Forest[/name_m], [name_u]Emory[/name_u] and [name_f]Honor[/name_f]! Thank you!

Firstly, [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Wildflower [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is [name_f]HEAVENLY[/name_f]!! What a darling combination!!

My first thought for honouring [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] was [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] or [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], which I love for a girl. You could always go a little left field, and choose a name with the same meaning as [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] rather than the same sound… such as [name_f]Irma[/name_f] or Ailynn…

[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Ailynn Wildflower would be very pretty!

I’m so glad that I could help you! I think [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Astra[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f] and [name_u]Seren[/name_u] could work.
Good luck!

Could you possibly have [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Elouise[/name_f]? Then you’ve got the [name_f]Louise[/name_f] part and also use your dad’s initial?

One of [name_u]Emmett[/name_u]'s listed meanings is ‘truth’ which gives you lots of options if you were to take that route:
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Amina[/name_f]/[name_f]Amena[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Honora[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Alethea[/name_f]

[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_m]Ford[/name_m] was my first thought, though I don’t know if you’re open to variants of [name_f]Louise[/name_f]?

My first thought was [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Emersyn[/name_f]/[name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] but I like a lot of the other suggestions!

@thelittlefairywren
Thank you so much! I love [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (although I’m afraid that [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is too close to my name).
I also adore Ailynn! It’s absolutely beautiful!

@estrela
[name_f]Astra[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], and [name_u]Seren[/name_u] are just stunning names and I definitely will be adding them to my list. Thank you for helping me!

@livia
I love your suggestion of [name_f]Elouise[/name_f]/[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]! I think it would be a perfect compromise. Thanks!

@leafsgirl44
I was wondering if I could use [name_m]Ford[/name_m]. Would it work well on a girl? I love the combo [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_m]Ford[/name_m]! :slight_smile:

@kathy13
I adore the spelling [name_f]Emersyn[/name_f] and is one of my top choices! thank you!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Amy[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]? Also, remember that there will likely be someone else who has ideas about names and may want to honor someone themselves.

Sincerely,

[name_f]Susan[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]!

A few names that I came up with that are similar to [name_m]Ford[/name_m]:
[name_f]Fjord[/name_f]
[name_f]Firth[/name_f] is a derivation of [name_f]Fjord[/name_f], so it has a similar meaning but a different sound.
Flordelis
[name_f]Florette[/name_f], [name_f]Floretta[/name_f], or [name_f]Fleurette[/name_f]
Marinette means “of the sea” which is sort of in the water genre with [name_m]Ford[/name_m] but this also has some sound similarities with [name_u]Emmett[/name_u].
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] also means sea.

Some that are similar to [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] (some have already been mentioned, but I’ll throw in some spelling variations):
[name_m]Emmerson[/name_m] / [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] / Emersen,
[name_u]Emory[/name_u] / [name_u]Emery[/name_u] / Emorie / [name_m]Emry[/name_m],
[name_f]Emer[/name_f] / Aemer / Amer,
[name_u]Ember[/name_u],
Emette / [name_f]Emmette[/name_f],
[name_f]Emmelou[/name_f] / [name_f]Emmylou[/name_f] / Emmylouise / Emmelouise,
[name_f]Louetta[/name_f] / Louette / [name_f]Louisette[/name_f] / [name_f]Louisetta[/name_f],
[name_f]Metta[/name_f] / [name_f]Meta[/name_f] / [name_f]Mette[/name_f] / [name_f]Mettie[/name_f],
Miette / [name_f]Mietta[/name_f],
[name_u]Maret[/name_u] / [name_u]Maret[/name_u] / Merete,
[name_f]Eliette[/name_f] / [name_f]Ettie[/name_f] / [name_f]Etta[/name_f],
Emmaretta,

To pull a couple from the list that I especially like:
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Fjord[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f],
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Florette[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f],
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Emer[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f],
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Emorie [name_f]Louise[/name_f],
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Emmylou[/name_f],
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Emmaretta [name_f]Louise[/name_f],
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Emmette[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f],
