Persephone

I’ve been watched the bbc series upstairs downstairs. one of the characters is named persephone but she goes by persie. I think [name]Persephone[/name] is beautiful but a bit of a handful. What would you think if there was a girl named [name]Persephone[/name] and for short she went by [name]Percy[/name]? Let me know your thoughts, good or bad. Thanks!

[name]Love[/name] it! But I like names that are “a bit of a handful.” I think taking a name as flouncy florid fabulous as [name]Persephone[/name] and shortening it to a nn as humble as [name]Percy[/name] is wonderful. People will call her [name]Percy[/name] and then there will be the “reveal”!! It’s like in the movies when the slightly awkward but cute girl takes off her glasses and she’s a swan!

I quite like [name]Persephone[/name] but I prefer Sephy as a nickname rather than [name]Percy[/name].

I love this name too! I like the possibilities - she can go with the cute and maybe tomboyish [name]Percy[/name], or she can use the “handful” name with elegance and pride. [name]One[/name] possible issue: people may think you’re calling her [name]Stephanie[/name].

I much prefer [name]Percy[/name] to Seffie/Sephy!

I really like [name]Persephone[/name], it has never quite made my list but I do think its beautiful.

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Persephone[/name]. Its one of my favourite names. I do prefer Sepphie as a nn though.

I like [name]Persephone[/name]. I also like [name]Percy[/name] as a nickname; I think it is much better than Sephy, which sounds like a sneeze to me. However, I like the idea of a name that gives your daughter the opportunity to decide what she’s called as an adult. [name]Percy[/name], Seph, [name]Persephone[/name]…

I love it. I still wouldn’t use it, because it is a little too different for me, but I love it.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Persephone[/name]! I think [name]Percy[/name] is a cute nickname.

[name]Love[/name] it! [name]One[/name] of my favourites =) All the nickname options are great too.

Well, I think if parents are choosing [name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Seraphina[/name], why should [name]Persephone[/name] be left on the shelf? [name]Persephone[/name] nn Persie/[name]Percy[/name] is quite a fine name in my opinion. Rest assured, a girl named [name]Persephone[/name] would most probably never have to share her name with anyone.

I’m using [name]Persephone[/name] if this baby is a girl (combo in signature). I prefer Sephy as a nickname, but [name]Percy[/name] wouldn’t be too bad and if that’s what she chooses than it gives her that more tom boyish option.

I think [name]Persephone[/name] is gorgeous and has wonderful meaning (as the [name]Goddess[/name] of [name]Spring[/name] Growth).
