Is this firmly in the guilty pleasure zone or a quirky middle name choice?
I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_m]Perseus[/name_m]. I couldn’t see myself using it as a first name because I think it’s too much of a name for someone, but I do like it as middle. My name combinations are family names with classic names I like such as [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Alaric[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]. I have been thinking of adding quirkier names in the middle such to spice up the combinations.
My fiance who usually is firmly in the classic/traditional name camp suggested this to me much to my shock. I suspect there is a sports guy with this name. Anyway I think it’s usuable, sure it’s not seen a lot but the pronunciation will be easy enough for people and [name_u]Percy[/name_u] is an awesome nn if he felt like that name was too much for him at school.
I love love love the nn [name_u]Percy[/name_u] but I think I would go with [name_m]Percival[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Perseus[/name_m]. It seems more in reach for an actual child rather than the greek hero. I still would swoon if I heard of a baby [name_m]Perseus[/name_m] and would ask about a million questions on how you got your significant other to agree cause my fiancee will not bend!
I love [name_f]Persis[/name_f] for a girl so I think [name_m]Perseus[/name_m] is a wonderful alternative for a boy. It would sound great as a middle combined with a classic name.
[name_m]Perseus[/name_m] sounds very handsome, like an adventurer or literary hero. The Greek god reference is a good one [name_f]IMO[/name_f]- what child wouldn’t love sharing his name with a god- and [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]?
