I once met a (French) hamster named Hamster Dame, which has somehow stuck with me since as a pretty cool pet name.
Since H isn’t pronounced in French and “dame“ is “dam“, it sounds exactly like “Amsterdam“

Oo, terrific idea for a new NotD thread!
My first post has to be for: River (f), Colin, and Rûmion for my three cats. River was named after River Tam (Firefly), Colin was named after Colin Firth, and Rûmion is elvish for “child of mystery” which I thought fitting for my all black kitty (don’t tell anyone, but she’s my favorite 
).
