Peter?

What do you think of it? Is it outdated or useable?

I like it. It’s definitely usable.

As for it being old fashioned, old fashioned names are coming back into style, so I wouldn’t worry about that part.

Useable! I know two [name]Peter[/name]'s, age 13 and 14. I like it!

Classic name that should make a comeback. Plus, how cute would a little [name]Petey[/name] be?

I absolutely love it! But [name]Peter[/name] was the name of my high school sweetheart so it’s unusable for me!

I think it manages to be strong & soft and classic. I really love ‘softer’ boy names like [name]Elijah[/name] or [name]Elliot[/name] or [name]Ezra[/name]. They all kind of fall in soundwise with [name]Peter[/name] yet [name]Peter[/name] is more down to earth.

Lighthearted namesakes like [name]Peter[/name] [name]Pan[/name] & [name]Peter[/name] Sellers sweeten the name. And Hunger Games character [name]Peta[/name] makes me think this name could be back on the radar of parents today.

Fantastic name. I honestly don’t know what it’s not in wider use. [name]Manly[/name] without sounding fusty, longstanding saintly history, and a spirited nickname to boot.

[name]Peter[/name] is the name of my favorite brother, he just turned 15. He never goes by [name]Pete[/name] or [name]Petey[/name] though, he is always [name]Peter[/name]

I’ve always loved the name [name]Peter[/name]. It’s a solid, handsome name.

[name]One[/name] of the few boy names on my list! The sounds mesh nicely, but still give that strong, classic, masculine vibe to the name.

Totally usable, although I’m biased, as it’s my brother’s name!

[name]Peter[/name] is usable. I think pretty much any of the apostle names are, except for probably [name]Judas[/name]. Anyway, since no one has brought it up yet… I guess I will. [name]One[/name] of the reasons [name]Peter[/name] may not be so widely used is because, at least where I’m from, a “peter” can be a slang term for a penis. Not trying to discourage you from using it at all, just letting you know that term is out there. And personally, I believe that’s why [name]Peter[/name] isn’t used more often.

That being said, I think [name]Peter[/name] is a nice name. We have a [name]Peter[/name] in the family, and most people call him [name]Pete[/name]. It suits him.

Oh, I love [name]Peter[/name]! It’s solid, classic, manly, not too popular, and has a great nickname. I think it’s a wonderful name.

It happens to be my dear brother’s middle name which only makes me love it more.

Why wouldn’t it be usable? [name]Peter[/name] is traditional, classic and timeless. If those qualities aren’t usable, then what is?

I like [name]Peter[/name] but I love the Norwegian spelling [name]Peder[/name]. It just sounds softer and less harsh, I think…

I am in [name]LOVE[/name] with the name [name]Peter[/name]. Particularly because he’s a character in the story I’m writing, but I’ve always had a soft spot for [name]Peter[/name]. To me its a very handsome, masculine name.

I’ve always liked it, and know of Peters aged from 4 to 32. Go for it.

I like [name]Peter[/name], mainly because of [name]Peter[/name] Rabbit. I mentioned this name to my DH and he said it is a nice name, but we can’t use it. Makes me sad when he vetoes wonderful names.

I’m with tintri. My first thought is always that it’s a common slang term. Kind of like naming your kid [name]Dick[/name]. Granted, it’s not as ubiquitous, but I still think it crosses a lot of minds when they hear it.

[name]Peter[/name] is a term for penis…but not as common as [name]Dick[/name] imo. I think peter for penis is somewhat outdated really. It’s like johnson. You rarely hear people use it…like if I met someone with ln [name]Johnson[/name] I wouldn’t even connect it to penis!

[name]Peter[/name] is one of those names that sounds good at any stage of life. It’s cute on a little boy, nice on a teenager and strong on a man.
I would definitely say that this name is usable. And it doesn’t sound outdated to me at all. The only downside to this name is that it’s quite common. But I would still use it.
