WDYT of [name_f]Petra[/name_f]? Pronounced PETCH-ruh or something similar, not [name_f]PEACH[/name_f]-ruh.
I really like the name [name_f]Petra[/name_f]! I have always pronounced it how it is spelled though ([name_f]Pet[/name_f]-ruh) without the ch sound. If i recall correctly it was the little sister in the Chrysalids and there is a model with that name. but thats all I know it from.
I love [name_f]Petra[/name_f], my husband doesnt and insists on saying Peet-ra. Like a [name_m]Petri[/name_m] dish. I think that’s part of his problem with the name.
I wish I could use it.
I knew a girl named [name_f]Petra[/name_f], and I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone call her [name_f]Peach[/name_f]-ra. I think it has that unique-without-being-unfamiliar flair that makes a name really solid.
[name_u]Love[/name_u]! It’s one of the newest names on my list, but I like it so much. It feels like it’d suit a lot of different types of women. I can see it on an artist, a doctor, a dancer, a pilot or a CEO. [name_f]Petra[/name_f] could be anyone.
I really like this name because it doesn’t sound unknown, but I rarely hear it - the only time I’ve heard it is when people mispronounce my name. I’ve only ever known the Petch-ra pronounciation. You can’t go wrong with such a strong yet feminine name.
I love it. It’s a strong name but not feminine to me (sorry). I can’t picture it on a little girl but I love it on a woman.
