Peyton

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], all! [name_m]Just[/name_m] to let you know, this is not for a real baby or even a character. I am purely curious. [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] is one of my guilty pleasures, because it is totally not my style. I love old-fashioned, frilly, ultra-feminine, almost storybook-ish names. Yet, for some reason, I love [name_u]Peyton[/name_u]. I don’t know why I like it, but there’s just something about it… I would love to hear your opinions and thoughts about [name_u]Peyton[/name_u], and what “vibe” it gives you. I’m always updating my lists, so thank you all for bearing with me!!

***I should add that I have some level of synesthesia, so part of the reason that I like this name is it has a “good taste.”

I have known/met so many Peytons (of various spellings) – both boys and girls. It is incredibly popular where I live.

I do tend to prefer it for a boy myself. However, one of my best friends growing up was a girl named [name_u]Payton[/name_u], so I’ve always had a soft spot for it on a girl. I suppose it’s one of the few names I see as truly unisex.

In general, I do like the name. It has a nice sound and a peppy sort of vibe.

I love classic, princessy type names too but I really like [name_u]Peyton[/name_u]! It is one of my favorite unisex names. Similar to [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], it gives off a cool yet strong vibe. Also, I have only known one [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] so I like how its unique.

It’s def cute! I also generally love super feminine names, but if I venture off that path, it’s for truly unisex and adorable names like [name_u]Peyton[/name_u]!

You could doll it up with a super feminine MN like [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] or [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] [name_f]Annalise[/name_f].

Peyton is great. If my cousin didn’t use it for his daughter, it would totally be on our long list since DH loves it. I also really love [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] because I feel like it is one of those truly unisex names - I can see it on either a boy or a girl just as easily, probably because I grew up with One Tree [name_m]Hill[/name_m]’s [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] and then there’s [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] [name_m]Manning[/name_m]. Because of that, I think someone named [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] can really make the name their own and it doesn’t come with a specific “vibe” for me and I really like that. Makes it feel like the individual child can truly make the name their own.

The name [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] is derived from [name_u]Payton[/name_u], a village in Somerset! I spent lots of childhood summers there so it has lots of positive connotations for me too xx
