Philomela/ Cornelia

These are the two new names on my radar…

Would pronounce [name]Philomela[/name] with a soft ‘eh’, almost like ‘[name]Phil[/name]-oh-may-la’
Also really like [name]Mela[/name] as a nickname.

[name]Cornelia[/name] in my accent has 4 syllables, rather than three. ‘[name]Cor[/name]-nee-lee-a’.
I think there’s something beautiful about it…
And as anyone who has looked at my last posts knows, I adore [name]Nell[/name]!

Honest opinions are appreciated, whatever they might be.
Thanks in advance NB

I can’t get over the “corn” part in [name]Cornelia[/name], although it’s a perfectly lovely name that I’d like to see used. Nicknames [name]Nell[/name] and [name]Neely[/name] work. [name]Philomela[/name] is pretty as well, although I’m not a fan of the [name]Phil[/name]- names.

[name]Even[/name] though you’ve spelled it out, I can’t quite grasp the pronunciation of [name]Philomela[/name]… which part has emphasis?
Anyway, I [name]LOVE[/name] the meaning of the name!

[name]Cornelia[/name] I don’t like. Like ‘agirlinred’ I can’t get over the ‘corn’ bit!
