Phineas

Is [name]Phineas[/name] “too much”? [name]Do[/name] you know anyone named [name]Phineas[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you know any Finns? What do you think of [name]August[/name] “[name]Gus[/name]”, [name]Theodore[/name] “[name]Theo[/name]”, and [name]Phineas[/name] “[name]Finn[/name]” together?

Thanks!

I like [name]Finn[/name] very much. I think [name]Phineas[/name] is becoming more common but I also think it’s a name he’s going to be spelling for other people for the rest of his life (and as someone w/ a complicated name to spell - that does get old!)

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Phineas[/name]! It’s probably my favorite [name]Finn[/name] name. My only concern is that [name]Eli[/name]'s son, [name]Phinehas[/name], didn’t have the best reputation. That puts me off a bit, as the Bible is a huge part of my family’s lives, and the likelihood that my children wouldn’t come across their Biblical counterpart sometime in the family worships or mommy-and-son/mommy-and-daughter conversations of their childhood is very slim. I’ve heard there are other, better Phineases in the Bible, but I haven’t found them yet… still, I think [name]Phineas[/name] is a great name! I love it, and I love [name]August[/name], [name]Theodore[/name], and [name]Phineas[/name]/[name]Gus[/name], [name]Theo[/name], and [name]Finn[/name] together! I definitely don’t think [name]Phineas[/name] is too much.

Good luck!

[name]August[/name], [name]Theodore[/name] & [name]Phineas[/name] would be fabulous sibset, I love it!!

[name]Phineas[/name] is gorgeous, and although I wouldn’t use it I’d love to meet a little [name]Phineas[/name].

I love [name]August[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] and I think [name]Phinneas[/name] goes okay with them. I like the sound of [name]Phinneas[/name] but all I think of is the cartoon [name]Phinneas[/name] and Ferb as I work with kids. I’ve never met a real life [name]Finn[/name], but a girl I work with is naming her son [name]Finnegan[/name]. I love that one and I think [name]Finn[/name] is a very handsome name/nickname.

I love [name]Phineas[/name], but I admit I don’t know one. It seems to be getting more well-known, though. I think [name]August[/name] “[name]Gus[/name],” [name]Theodore[/name] “[name]Theo[/name],” and [name]Phineas[/name] “[name]Finn[/name]” work very well together.
BTW, [name]Aaron[/name]'s grandson [name]Phinehas[/name] was the “good one.”

I love [name]Phineas[/name]! I can’t decide if I am brave enough to use it though. I would love to see it become maybe a bit more popular. [name]Ashley[/name], that was my original concern with [name]Phinehas[/name] too. I had marked it off my list until I found that there is a good [name]Phinehas[/name] in the Bible too. He was [name]Aaron[/name]'s grandson. Check out Numbers 25:7. He is mentioned off and on in [name]Joshua[/name] and Judges also. And once in a Psalm. Psalm 106:30. I love biblegateway.com

Bless you!

I had asked about it earlier but someone else had just told me about [name]Eli[/name]'s son, and that wasn’t the one I wanted connected to my son! lol. I like some Bible characters more (i.e. [name]Caleb[/name], [name]Joshua[/name], and [name]Daniel[/name]!), but I’m happy enough that there was a good [name]Phinehas[/name], so it’s back as an option as a MN. I like [name]Phineas[/name] as a FN, too, but I just don’t think it fits as well with my other favorite FNs…

I love biblegateway.com, too, lol.

I love [name]Phineas[/name]! [name]One[/name] of my fave names for a boy and I would use it as a name for a younger brother of [name]Theodore[/name]! I have a friend with a son called [name]Finn[/name] who is gorgeous!

I am kind of on board with [name]Phineas[/name] for you but then I thought of a name that I haven’t heard of in a long time - [name]Harald[/name]/[name]Harold[/name] and I think that this would work especially if you live in the UK.

[name]Phineas[/name] and Ferb is a really popular show, and that’s many people’s only association but it’s not a bad necessarily a bad one. [name]One[/name] of the main characters is [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Flynn[/name].
[name]Just[/name] don’t name any sibs [name]Candace[/name] or [name]Perry[/name] or [name]Isabella[/name]

I really like [name]Phineas[/name]! I know an eight year old named [name]Phineas[/name] who goes by [name]Finn[/name]/Finny–it really suits him.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Phineas[/name] nn [name]Finn[/name]. He goes great with [name]August[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name].

I have to say I don’t like this name. Sorry. All I think of is [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Gage[/name], which is not a good association; thanks to this man doctors at [name]Harvard[/name] found out why the frontal lobes of the brain are important after he had a railroad spike pass through both of his. [name]True[/name] story - His skull is on display at the library across the quad from my office.

I suppose the association is obscure enough that it should not matter to you - but you may want to know about it before using the name. And - don’t use the middle name [name]Gage[/name]!

[name]Phineas[/name] is a great name, I really like it! [name]August[/name], [name]Theodore[/name], & [name]Phineas[/name] - perfect:)

Thank you all for the feedback!

@rollo - We’re not in the UK, but in the States, and I’m afraid [name]Harold[/name] is a little too “old man” for us. I do love [name]Harry[/name], though.

@lynae - Oh, dear. That’s not a pleasant association at all. But like you said, it’s fairly obscure and I don’t think many people would associate a boy named [name]Phineas[/name] with [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Gage[/name]. Thank you, though.

I love [name]Phineas[/name]. I think [name]Finn[/name], [name]Gus[/name], and [name]Theo[/name] is adorable.

I actually know a little [name]Phineas[/name], under a year. He has big sisters [name]Lillian[/name], [name]Gwyneth[/name], and [name]Naomi[/name].
