I love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]! It doesn’t feel hippie to me. It feels somewhere in between familiar and uncommon. It feels similar to [name_f]Arsinoe[/name_f] to me!
Disclaimer: I’m in the UK, where [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is currently #22.
I like [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. It’s light, bright, sweet and soft. I don’t find it hippie, but I do find it a little bit young sounding, even though I know of adult Phoebes. It seems very common to me.

Phoebe feels familiar, bubbly and versatile. It reminds me of [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
I like it a lot. [name_f]My[/name_f] association is historical, not hippie.
Not hippie, and not too common.
.Hello Juniper743 I really like [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. It has an interesting look and it’s not common where we live. More than hippie, I think it has an aura of innocence to it. Unfussy and natural, but so feminine it doesn’t need adornments. That sweetness is nicely balanced by the meaning.
No, it’s somehow fresh and vintage, and is really cute!
Absolutely love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]! It’s sweet, bright, quirky, fun, and warm. I don’t get hippy vibes, I agree with others that the name is uncommon (at least near me) but still familiar! I also love the possibility of nn [name_f]Bee[/name_f]!
Other names that it feels similar to are [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], and [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
Phoebe doesn’t seem hippie to me! It seems unique but recognizable. It gives be the same vibe as [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]!
I love LOVE [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]! I would use it but it isn’t DH’s favorite. Right now it’s not too popular in the US but I can see it gaining popularity and possibly becoming the new [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]/Zoe. That’s the only thing that makes me hesitant about the name.
I think it’s really cute and has a great history and meaning. I don’t think of it as hippie at all really.
Phoebe feels spunky and vintage to me. It doesn’t give me hippie associations outright but I think that’s because the crunchy crowd where I live tends to pick a lot of nature/word names.
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] if anything feels more witchy than hippie just based on the people I know who have used or considered it.
I think a lot of these short and zippy Greek names are starting to gain traction again, but it’s not so popular as to be undesirable.
It’s my favourite name! I don’t find it hippie, unique, or common actually lol. It’s familiar for sure, but by no means unique. It feels very spunky to me.

I love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]! Currently one of our top two choices for a baby girl middle name, or possibly a first name option. To me, it’s a Bible name, (though an obscure one; I think the name is mentioned, but I don’t think there’s really a story), but I don’t think it really would have that association for most people.
Love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]! No hippie vibes at all. I’ve seen several people mention in earlier posts that [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is a hippie name but I can’t comprehend where it comes from as [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is just as classy as popular classic names such as [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. It’s a good name, very cute and not overused. Great name for both a baby girl and a grown up.
Does not feel hippie! [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] feels vintage. It is quite unique in that prospect, because it’s not OVERLY feminine, like a lot of other female vintage names, and doesn’t end in an -a, like a lot of other feminine vintage names.
