Phoenix

I am a trans man and I asked my mom for ideas. What she would’ve named me if I were a boy.
The answer was [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u].

I can’t say I’m too surprised. [name_f]My[/name_f] deadname is also a rare noun, that’s somewhat neutral. She has one type of names she likes.

So I’d like some feedback on the name. The rare-ness of it is fine for me, like I said I’ve already delt with that so no real difference.

[name_u]Welcome[/name_u] to Nameberry! I think [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] is a lovely name. It sounds really cool, with its on-trend sound and its fun connection to the mythological phoenix!

I don’t think you mind, but just to let you know, [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] isn’t as rare as you may think! It’s been in the top 300 most popular names for baby boys every year since 2016, and [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] on a girl is also almost just as popular. So, I don’t know if that bothers you, but it is quite unisex, even if it slightly leans male. Either way, I think it’s a wonderful choice, and the nicknames (Finn, [name_u]Nick[/name_u], etc.) all sound more masculine to me!

Sounds like a fit! I like the name!

[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] is cool - sort of edgy but mystical, sporty but quirky.

It’s outside of my personal style, slightly, but I think it’s a really cool option! In early middle school I had a classmate with that given name and he wore it well. I could easily see it on another person.

I like the nickname options Phee, [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_u]Nick[/name_u], [name_u]Nix[/name_u], etc

It’s not as rare/out-there as some noun names, so I find it to be pretty wearable on anyone!
