Pica: Unusuable word name?

I’m not considering it, but I do love the actual sound of it. I tend to love ‘softer’ boy names, like [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Seth[/name_u], and the sound-a-like: [name_u]Micah[/name_u]. That’s probably why the sound of Pica appeals to me.

However, I also have attended nursing school…I know the medical aspect of the word. I know the connotations of it, as well.

Does this render it totally unusable, though, or do you think it is one that could eventually find some sort of use as an actual name? [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f], [name_u]Story[/name_u], [name_u]Storm[/name_u], Thunder, [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]Fable[/name_u], [name_m]Fox[/name_m], [name_f]Plum[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], and so on have gained a bit of traction (even if only on NB) and I would’ve never expected those to be considered usable…so do you think this could follow along the same lines?

To be perfectly honest, I do find Pica a little weird because of the medical connotations. That being said, pica is Latin for magpie, so I guess it can be seen as a word name a la [name_u]Vesper[/name_u].

If you are open to suggestions, what about [name_u]Luca[/name_u], [name_u]Seneca[/name_u] or [name_u]Lorca[/name_u]?

I see pica as unusable do to the medical condition.

It’s got a lovely sound, but yes — I think it’s unusable because of that. [name_m]How[/name_m] about something like [name_m]Paco[/name_m], [name_f]Riva[/name_f], [name_f]Nova[/name_f], [name_f]Alba[/name_f]… [name_u]Lorca[/name_u] is a great suggestion!

Thanks all! That’s what I was thinking. I do love the suggestions you guys gave and will see about running them past DH.
