This is the only daily thing we don’t have a topic for, and I think we should. What is your opinion on the pick of the day?
[name]Rose[/name]- I really like [name]Rose[/name], wish it wasn’t so popular, as it was my grandmother’s middle name and I’d like to use it. I think it’s really sweet as a first name, but I like it in the middle, too.
I like [name]Rose[/name] and would much rather see [name]Rose[/name] as a first name than as a middle, yet again. Sweet and ladylike with a bit of sass when nicknamed [name]Rosie[/name].
see, I don’t like the nickname [name]Rosie[/name]… probably because I’ve known a lot of them.
[name]Rose[/name]
I cringe when I see it as a middle name these days. Too bad such a beautiful name has become such a filler. I wonder why it hasn’t caught on as much as a first name. I appreciate it so much more in the first name position. I prefer [name]Rosa[/name], personally. Can’t get over the O’[name]Donnell[/name] associations with [name]Rosie[/name].
[name]Linden[/name]- I never knew this was a name, but my name means “by the island of the linden trees”. If someone were honoring me, I’d much rather they used [name]Linden[/name].
[name]Linden[/name], NJ is the town my kid brother lives in. It may be a tree name but it’s not one I’d ever think of using (and it makes me giggle a bit inside when I see it being discussed, to be honest). I’d rather [name]Belinda[/name].
[name]Linden[/name]
This name is one of those that I like a lot better in theory than in actual naming practice. It’s also one that I like enough I’d like to see it on someone else kid! But never my own. [name]Every[/name] time I say it all I can think of is Liniment…or [name]Lindbergh[/name] [name]Baby[/name].
I only think of [name]Lyndon[/name] [name]Johnson[/name]…It has a pretty sound, though!
Thanks for starting this thread, [name]Lyndsay[/name]!
[name]Delilah[/name]
Oh, I like [name]Delilah[/name] a lot!! Still has a bit of the [name]Samson[/name] and [name]Delilah[/name] association for me, but I think I could deal. Also a fan of [name]Lila[/name] on it’s own.
I absolutely love [name]Delilah[/name]! I have zero association with [name]Samson[/name] and [name]Delilah[/name], so that doesn’t bother me. She’s so very pretty. Also, the Plain White Ts were my favorite band for years before “Hey There, [name]Delilah[/name]” came out, so I kind of dig that connection.
[name]Delilah[/name]'s not for me. 17 years of Catholicism does that. Blech.
I’ll pass on [name]Delilah[/name], too. The only time I ever heard it was in relation to [name]Samson[/name], so [name]Delilah[/name]'s reputation is still in need of rehabilition for me.
Eh. [name]Don[/name]'t like [name]Delilah[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]!!! Woo Hoo! This is my all-time favorite boys name of the moment. I have pictured my own little baby [name]Silas[/name] a million times. Yes, my fam hates it. [name]Don[/name]'t care.
Good for you chrbaker! [name]Silas[/name] isn’t for me, but it’s a very handosme, solid name. I like it.
If not for the Da [name]Vinci[/name] Code’s disturbing monk character, [name]Silas[/name], I think I’d really love the name. I just need something new with whom to associate the name, and all will be well in the land of [name]Silas[/name].
[name]Sophia[/name]
I’m going to stick with the rankings scale…
1-Hate it
2-[name]Don[/name]'t Like it
3-It’s ok
4-Like it
5-[name]Love[/name] it
I give it a 3. It’s a really great name, but it’s giving [name]Ava[/name]/[name]Emma[/name] a run for their money in terms of popularity where I live.
I <3 [name]Sophia[/name]. It’s my nieces name.
[name]August[/name]
I give it a 5! I’d definitely use this one. With the nn [name]Gus[/name].
