[name_f]My[/name_f] answers will change tomorrow, but for today…
[name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] – feels both grounded and princess-y. The Arthurian connection gives it a mystical quality while still feeling earthy with the Italian juniper sound-alike. [name_f]Love[/name_f] the da [name_m]Vinci[/name_m] portrait and [name_f]Villette[/name_f] references, too!
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] – unusual but with familiar sounds and approachable nicknames. But I love it mostly due to [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] Midwinter:)
[name_m]Adair[/name_m] – seems criminally underused! I like the androgynous feel, and it’s one of the few unisex names that I like equally on anyone!
On a different day, I would have chosen [name_f]Mabli[/name_f], [name_m]Linus[/name_m], and [name_m]Jude[/name_m]!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites today are [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_m]Sholto[/name_m], and [name_m]Rowan[/name_m]
On another day, I’d also pick [name_f]Tansy[/name_f], [name_m]Forest[/name_m], and [name_m]Sol[/name_m]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are [name_f]Mabli[/name_f] (sounds so fun and whimsical), [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] (love the z), and [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] (just feels very refined)
OMG your girls list is so hard!!! I think I will have to go with [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] though. She sounds so strong and I love the meaning and the literary connection to the [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] sisters. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] has so many different vibes that fuse together perfectly- a quirky surname feel, strong sounds but still able to be whispered delicately, dramatic, wuthering heights imagery, stormy meaning, literary, vintage style…she’s just so cool! Honorable mention to [name_f]Una[/name_f], [name_f]Sarai[/name_f], and [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f]!
For boys I had no hesitation in picking my sweet [name_m]Linus[/name_m]! I just love his cuddy, soft, sweet sound- so lovable and brings such a smile to my face. He’s romantic and the tiniest bit nerdy (in a good way), and I love his pale yellow colour that adds a sunny vibe. The Peanuts connection is super adorable as well as its nostalgic for my and makes the name all the more enjoyable.
And last but not least…[name_m]Jude[/name_m]! I have a soft spot for [name_m]Jude[/name_m] (I think I prefer for a boy, but [name_m]Jude[/name_m] on a girl is insanely cool as well.) the raspberry colour I get from this name is super bright and artsy, and reminds me of paintings and electric guitars and hand embroidered jeans, it has the feel of an effortlessly amazing person that everyone adores. I also like the Beatles connection!
[name_f]Tansy[/name_f] - pretty sure I didn’t know this plant or name before joining NB & since discovering her I think she’s woefully unknown/unused! [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] is bright and carefree and upbeat
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] (though it almost went to Sholto) - he’s a gentle, playful rogue!
[name_m]Rowan[/name_m] - suits anyone IMO, has lovely nature imagery, meaning and symbolism. [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] sounds beautiful, poised and grounded to me
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] - the dance of the colors is too beautiful to ignore.
[name_m]Forest[/name_m] - this surprises me, I was sure I would choose my own favorite Tristan… but no, today I find [name_m]Forest[/name_m] more charming. I have taken long walks in the woods for many weeks now, I think the fresh air, the beauty of spring - it all just makes me feel more connected to the [name_m]Forest[/name_m].
[name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] - maybe the sound is the reason, and it’s neutral enough for me.
From list no.1 my favourite is [name_f]Opal[/name_f]
Gosh this is a hard one however I’ve really been crushing on the majestic witchy feel of [name_f]Opal[/name_f]. She’s a gorgeous gemstone name that sounds magical and has a sweet vintage flair. I also love [name_f]Carys[/name_f] + [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] but [name_f]Opal[/name_f] is my favourite.
From list no.2 my favourite is [name_m]Forest[/name_m]
I have loved [name_m]Forest[/name_m] for a long time! He’s a lovely nature name that feels earthy and outdoorsy with gorgeous imagery attached. [name_m]Forest[/name_m] is a firm favourite.
From list no.3 my favourite is [name_m]Rowan[/name_m]
I love [name_m]Rowan[/name_m]! And [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f]! But [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] just outshines [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] the name is outdoorsy, warm and cuddly.
[name_f]Mabli[/name_f] - it’s cute, and I can’t resist Welsh names (and it seems biased for me to pick Carys).
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] - it’s one of my favourite names. It sounds fun, and the ‘z’ makes it seem modern. And it can have the cute nickname [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m]. (Tristan, [name_m]Evander[/name_m], [name_m]Forest[/name_m] & [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] are also favourites from this list.)
[name_m]Everett[/name_m] - I don’t have any particular reasoning for this.
For a girl, I adore [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] and [name_f]Bronte[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite for a boy is [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], followed by [name_m]Forest[/name_m]. At last, I love [name_m]Sol[/name_m].
I always adore your names, they are so magical
My favourites are Ginevra, Tristan and Rowan. I fell in love with Ginevra because of you, I had never heard it before becoming a member here. Ginevra is so sparkly and magical/ mystical. Ginevra just sounds so much like she should be a princess in a medieval fairytale. I actually didn’t know Ginevra is an Italian form of Guinevere!
Tristan is so-so handsome and I adore the Arthurian connection.
Rowan feels like a little forest child/ fairy. Rowan trees are so magical in my country’s folklore. I also love how it sounds a bit like Rohan, a place in LOTR.
mabli - she’s such a sweet and bubbly name! i usually don’t love names that end in -i but i think it works so well for mabli, and i love how unique she is while feeling familiar at the same time!
rafferty - such a cool sounding name! i love all the nickname potential and the meaning ‘flood tide’ is beautiful there’s something about this name that’s just so cool!
rowan - maybe the only gender neutral name i love on both girls and boys! very cool and outdoorsy, and everyone that i’ve met named rowan is always lovely <3
[name_f]Una[/name_f]
I really love how whimsical yet streamlined this name is! I associate it with Stardust, one of my favorite fantasy movies! [name_f]Una[/name_f] looks much more natural to me than [name_f]Oona[/name_f].
[name_m]Forest[/name_m]
Oh, I was so close to choosing [name_m]Linus[/name_m], but [name_m]Forest[/name_m] is just effortlessly cool! I love how it’s outdoorsy without being an in-your-face word name. I think it looks and sounds very natural. I definitely sounds like a little woodland prince.
[name_f]Marlowe[/name_f]
I chose this because I like it for just about anyone! I tend to favor most gender neutral names only on boys, but [name_f]Marlowe[/name_f] is an exception. I also like the way it sounds in my accent (not always an easy thing!)
From your girls, I love so many but I have to choose Tansy!! I love how light and fun she is, she feels very spunky and underused!! Also a great nature reference
From your boys, it has to go to Evander!! Such a lovely, mystical mythology name, I love how he feels so ancient and modern all at the same time!!
From your unisex list, I love Sol!! The sun connection is so beautiful, and I think it’s a wonderful name for any gender
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] - this name is so short and cute but also feels atrong to me
[name_m]Forest[/name_m] - i just like this name, i don’t even know why
