We are having a hard time finding a name that feels great for our second boy. Our daughter is [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] and our son is [name_m]Kepler[/name_m]. We are feeling a bit like reining it in with this one, those are both pretty out there, but on the other hand a unique name still feels special.
Our top contenders right now are sort of a range from super normal to never met someone with that name before:
Thoughts on those names please! Also open to suggestions.
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband is worried [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is too tease-able (Huge-O or some variation). I’ve never read/seen the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], but I obviously would before naming my kid that. I’m told it’s not a bad association though. What do you think?
the only one i’d nick right off the bat is max. while max is a fine name, it really stands out against kepler and geneva and that sort of imbalance can be quite upsetting for the children.
personally i vote for caspian (the association is just fine! the prince caspian is a cool guy), it feels as fairytale as geneva and similar enough to kepler to right right in!
hugo is a lovely name as well, and fits with geneva in a sort of royal kind of vibe, but i still feel as if kepler would be the odd one out.
some ideas that popped into mind:
maxen
madden
knox
viggo
peregrine
otto
felix
phoenix
Capsian Is the best I think because of its uniqueness. Since the other children have unique names I think it’s best to go all the way with the third.
[name_f]Geneva[/name_f] and [name_m]Kepler[/name_m] are really cool!!
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] fit well!! I really love both -Hugo is warm and fun and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is sleek bit adventurous! [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is fairly familiar here in the UK so i don’t think it’s unusable and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is a good association and familiar whilst distinct
I really like [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] with [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] and [name_m]Kepler[/name_m] . [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] may be a little more safe but I can see it matching / fitting in. [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] definitely fits the vibe of [name_m]Kepler[/name_m] a s [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] !
Huge-O? Why? I don’t really see the teaseability of [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], it’s nice!
Also, I for one most certainly don’t associate [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] with [name_f]Narnia[/name_f], but then I’m not from the States so take that with a grain of salt
TL;DR don’t sweat your original choices, they’re perfectly fine!
I agree with everything that @Aren wrote about your top three picks! I think [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] really is the best fit with your other children, and [name_u]Prince[/name_u] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is not a bad association in the slightest!
I like [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] with your kids. [name_u]Max[/name_u] is nice, but a little too common up against them… maybe [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] or [name_u]Mack[/name_u] as an alternative?
[name_u]Max[/name_u] & [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] seem a little too normal/common with [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] & [name_m]Kepler[/name_m] but [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] fits amazing!
[name_f]Geneva[/name_f], [name_m]Kepler[/name_m] & [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is a beautiful sibset
I like [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] the best of those three. I also like [name_u]Max[/name_u], but I think a longer form, such as [name_m]Maximus[/name_m], would fit better with the siblings’ names.
I seem to be a lone voice so far, but I really like [name_u]Max[/name_u] with [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] and [name_m]Kepler[/name_m]! [name_m]Maxfield[/name_m] would be a more unusual longer version.
Some other suggestions:
[name_m]Lorcan[/name_m]
[name_u]Lian[/name_u]
[name_u]Loki[/name_u]
[name_m]Ashwin[/name_m]
[name_m]Maxfield[/name_m]
[name_m]Cormac[/name_m]
[name_u]Beck[/name_u]
i like all your top contenders, but i think the one that fits best with your other children’s names is [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]! here are some other suggestions <3
I like all three options but I agree with previous posters, [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] fits best. [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] feel a little too traditional next to [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] and [name_m]Kepler[/name_m] whereas Caspian’s magical quality and uniqueness make it perfect with your children’s names.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] a note re [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], which I love btw: it’s quite common here in Australia and most definitely not a tease-able name. The more I think about it actually, the more I think it fits in well with your sibset as well, even though it’s tamer than [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] and [name_m]Kepler[/name_m]. And I agree with what a few previous posters have said about [name_u]Max[/name_u]: if it was [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] or even [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] it would feel more cohesive with your sibset.
I love [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] with your children! and the association definitely isn’t too strong — even if it was, though, it’s a good association, not a bad one.
