Pilot (Lottie) for a girl?

[name_m]Pilot[/name_m] reminds me of [name_m]Bishop[/name_m] in terms of style. I personally wouldn’t use it, but I kinda think it’s cute. I’ve heard of several girl Bishops so I think a girl [name_m]Pilot[/name_m] would fit right in.

I actually like it! Especially with the nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]!
It’s sounds really sweet.
I like the combos:
[name_m]Pilot[/name_m] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_m]Pilot[/name_m] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_m]Pilot[/name_m] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]

My first reaction was surprise and uncertainty. But the more I think of it the more I can picture a girl/woman named [name_m]Pilot[/name_m] nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]. It certainly would take a some boldness to name a daughter [name_m]Pilot[/name_m], but I think it could work.
Maybe partly why I think this way is because being an airplane pilot has always been a dream of mine, so I have very good associations with the word. I think if my parents had named me [name_m]Pilot[/name_m], I’d be rather proud of my name. That’s just me personally tho, I couldn’t gaurentee that any girl would love to be named [name_m]Pilot[/name_m]. I also love word names (as you can see by my signature) so that’s probably another reason I could get on board with [name_m]Pilot[/name_m] (pun intended!! ;))
The nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] makes it a little more accessible, and I’d definitely agree that it would be best paired with a very obviously feminine and more common middle name.
All the best!

I like [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], but I’m not a fan of [name_m]Pilot[/name_m] for either gender. I think that it’s usable as a middle name, but as a first name it’s a little too out there for me.

[name_m]Pilot[/name_m] is unusable for either gender. Out of your other options, though, I really like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]!

[name_m]Pilot[/name_m] reminds me too much of the profession. Too me, it’s the same as naming your child [name_m]Doctor[/name_m], Teacher, or [name_m]Lawyer[/name_m]. I do think it’s a good middle name. I love [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] as a nickname!

I don’t like it and I don’t think it’s useable. There are other ways to get to [name_f]Lottie[/name_f].

@katinka thanks! I really like [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] too but the person it’s honoured after is called Flea as a nickname and hates that! It depends on if you could avoid those nicknames!
@columbiacharm you sum my situation up perfectly! I adore [name_m]Pilot[/name_m] now but see how it’s weird at first. Many people may dislike it at first and develop unnecessary first impressions, however. I don’t want to throw that on a kid

As someone with an odd name, I think you should introduce yourself as [name_m]Pilot[/name_m] to every new person you meet for at least a month before making any decisions, nickname or not.

:D:D:D

Perfect advice.
